So I won't post any more after this just for the sake of posting "my usual outfits only with nude shoes" but I'm posting this one because it was to wear with this skirt that I specifically started wanting nude shoes (a year ago) as I wanted to lengthen the legline with the longer skirt.

In other comments, I'm increasingly keen to add more lightness to my outfits. This outfit, to me, looks better with the scarf, though in the office climate I actually didn't wear it.

Love that skirt! I think the outfit looks just as nice without the scarf. Do you prefer the scarf because of the lighter color it brings to the black top? I think a bold silver necklace would have the same lightening effect without the fuss.

Yes the skirt is great isn't it!! I love it too. Yes I was thinking of the lighter colour and I agree, a lighter necklace would have done the trick. I have a new silver and pearl one that would probably have worked.

I went to the gym before work and so brought the outfit it and then realised too late that I'd left the necklace behind. I have a bad tendency to do that when I pack an outfit, as opposed to actually trying it on and looking in the mirror!

Gorgeous skirt, and very nice outfit! I think it works well both with and without the scarf. You could carry a white bag instead of the scarf, too.

Tanya I think we were writing at the same time. I'm so glad you made that suggestion, because it is time for me to look for a new bag and I'll probably shop tomorrow! I had never thought of getting a white bag but I love it!

I think I'd still need a necklace though, since my bag mostly sits in my desk drawer at work.

The outfit looks wonderful on you. I like it best without the scarf for indoors and agree that a necklace should work.

That skirt is gorgeous, and you look great in it. I like the outfit both ways, and the new shoes do work beautifully with it.

Yes, the scarf adds brightness but with your fair hair and nude shoes the outfit is still fab without.

I do think the scarf provides that final touch, but regardless - the skirt is super keen and the shoes continue to be brilliant!

That skirt is so lovely! I can understand why you'd want to add more lightness with the nude footwear. It would also work great with a necklace or new bag. The shoes are workhorses for you!

That is a really lovely skirt. Please post this outfit again with the necklace if you wear it that way next time! I may like this one best without the scarf (though I almost always have to wear a scarf indoors when I work, for warmth).
