Day 7 of the Oldie's Challenge and I had to wear my all time favourite oldie. Worn with a dress off to work.

Not very original, because it is a 3/4 Burberry trench that is 12 years old. Actually made in England, because it is that old. I must say I am shocked at how expensive they are now. Back in 2006, I remember thinking it was expensive, but definitely not prohibitive as alas they now seem to be.

The reason it is my favourite oldie is because it always looks good and can be worn with anything and everything. It is robust, I don't have to be careful with it. I wear it a lot. Whenever I travel to cooler weather, it is my travel companion.

They say a trench is a timeless classic, and for me that has been so very true.

Photo 4 - Honourable mention, the raspberry velvet jacket that almost made the "favourite item" - also from 2006 and much loved and worn. Photo from 2006 too.

It has been fun to revisit the oldies in my wardrobe. Mainly jackets and coats seem to last longer than 5 years in my wardrobe. Shirts, knits and tops get the greatest turn over, probably due to very frequent washing. Dresses, jeans, pants and accessories, will tend to be turned over quite frequently too - the items that are over 10 years are only coats and the rare jacket for me.
