This is an outfit I'm really excited to share, because I feel like it pulls from two aspects of my style that are typically separate, but today I've combined. What I mean by that is - at work, I tend to lean more toward the "ladylike elegance" as shown in the navy wrap dress. On the weekends though, and especially given that I sing in two rock bands and my husband and I run a (very small) indie/punk record label, my style is definitely more influenced by those personal factors.
Today I'm wearing:
High waisted gray wool pencil skirt I've had forever, no clue where it came from, probably thrifted
Skinny black belt by Betsy Johnson, one of my favorite designers, knotted (the underside of the belt is leopard which you see occasionally)
Tights that are somewhere between maroon and oxblood
Platform peep toe oxford lace up heels with a bit of patent leather on the saddle shoe design
Black faux leather corset with gold zipper details (simple black spaghetti strap tank under that) from Dots
Black lace top over the corset
I also have a black cardigan to throw on if i get chilly, but it's not part of the planned "look" so I didn't take a picture of it. It's very lightweight and falls just below my natural waist
Gold and soft pink art deco necklace and matching earrings
Mid-height pony with volume on the criown
Nude eyes and dark red lips
I'm not sure about the necklace. The pink doesn't show up much in these photos. I really wanted to wear it, but is it really offputting to have soft pink with the dark red tights and lips?
