My last order of October arrived last night. As soon as Angie posted her Madewell mary-jane, I was in love with the silhouette: perfect heel height, not too pointy, and a strap to keep them on! I haven't decided if I should keep these; they will not be a high-wear everyday item for me but they are REALLY FUN.

I'm also hoping folks will weigh in on sizing; I'm terrible at figuring out how women's shoes are supposed to fit as I am a thick-socks-and-boots gal through and through.

At first, I was going to order the brown suede version because it's gorgeous, but then I looked at my dresses and realized how well the Dorothy-in-Oz sparkles would go with all of them. A lighter clutch would also be nice, but not a priority right now. The big rose quartz pendant is a perfect colour match for the glitter.

1 - sleeveless mixed media dress and silver herringbone necklace. Opaque grey tights in all of these, just grabbed the first pair in my drawer.
2 - brushed cotton dress with tons of wrinkles because I pulled it out of the laundry hamper! I think I would really like this one with a metallic belt as an accent.
3 - fuschia stripes and rose quartz pendant. Don't think I would like this as much with the brown suede version of the shoes; all the pink is so nice!
4 - eggplant dress with tweedy topper. Again, I don't think I would choose to wear this with the brown suede pair, prefer it with the sparkles.
5 - drapey cotton sweater (also laundry hamper wrinkles, sorry) and plaid wide-legs. The point against this one is that the glitter catches on the hems of the pants in a really annoying way! So I'd never actually wear this, which is a shame because these are the right here height for these pants. Ankle and cropped pants would be a possibility, but this one makes me tempted to try the shoes in the other colour.

6 and 7: I tried two sizes, and really prefer the larger size (#6) for my toes. The smaller size (#7) is pretty pinchy in the front, although the length is better. I don't think these are going to stretch at all, due to the hard outers. Is the gap at the back of the larger size too noticeable?

Of course, I could also return these and try the brown suede version, which is probably softer and I could maybe go with the smaller size in those. I will say, 4yo DS approves of the sparkly version. As I was unboxing he went, "Whoa! Those are cool!"
