I've been loking for white bottoms and tried alot and learned along the way. NOw I know I need to size up and I can check how opaque it is by just stretching the material against my hand. (great way of eliminating pieces!) At least it is a good indication for the jeans are too see-through. If I am unsure I'll try them on. Now I also can try on only one leg and know if it will not work at all. I have learned and I see it instantly if it is too unforgiving. Trying on a variety of items within the same category is really a learning process!
Anyway, I found these jeans, took them home and tried styling them. But first of all:
- Is the fit right?
- Not too snug or wide?
- Opaque or see-through?
- Leg length? Rolled, big cuff, as is? I'm lost.
If they fit, I know many styling options. So fit is key!
#1: Sandals, tank top and rolled leg.
Bright blazer and stright leg with a slight flare
#2: the jeans in the dressing room
#3: Dotted top, black sneaks, white/black bag
With striped jersey blazer and rolled leg a bit more
#4: Print tee (orphan) + sandals, undercuffed
Mixed media jacket and metallic bootis, undercuffed
#5: Plaid shirt and metallic booties, rolled
Black sweater, metallic booties and white/black bag
#6: Vintage sweater, red sneaks, white/black bag, rolled leg
Floral sweater, red sneaks, rolled leg (the sweater is a bit short)
Floral sweater, bright ballerinas, rolled leg (the ballerinas seem a bit off, maybe because they don't balance out the sweater?)
#7: Blue sweater, half tucked + bright ballerinas. rolled (I don't like this, too casual)
Blue sweater, untucked + grey basket shoes, big cuff (might be better half tucked)
#8: Silk faux wrap top + grey basket shoes, big cuff
with mixed media jacket, big cuff (I like this better than #7)
With striped jersey blazer and loafers, full length (the blazer seem to hit a bit high with this top, or?)
#9 Silk blouse+ loafers, full length (orphan blouse. Should I donate? I feel the print is too arty for my style these days)
Denim shirt + gladiators + bag, rolled. (I'll donate the shirt. I don't like the shoulder details)
Graphic tee, gladiators, rolled (this was simple and I liked it)
#10: Slik faux wrap top + grey basket shoes + Helmut lang jacket (is this jacket too much? Donate?)
Tank top, cardigan, loafers, belt.
