K/R: the brocade track pants again, in a larger size

The Gibson brocade track pants that I tried on last week have arrived in the larger size. Here they are styled with different tops and shoes. The cuffs can be unzipped to go over shoes if I want. What do we think? This size feels much better than the one I tried on in the store - they don't catch at my hips like the smaller one did so they drape a lot better. They are really comfy.

1-2: with mid-heeled fluevog booties, cuffs partially unzipped. Tee and cropped jacket.
3: semitucked with Converse Hi-Ness. Cuffs are zipped up here.
4-5: with Born mid-heeled oxfords and a plain tee. Zipped up cuffs.
6: with peplum top, leather moto, and platform booties. Unzipped cuffs.
7: voluminous top, flat oxfords, zipped cuffs.
8: same as #7 but with the moto.
9: linen "matrix" sweater, platform sandals, zipped cuffs.

I have other sandal-type shoes I could wear (but I didn't want to dig them all out of the closet they're being stored in). I don't wear pumps or low-vamp shoes in general so those are not an option.

Ooh, I really like them, especially with the cuffs unzipped. Great drape.

What carambola said! I like the way they fall unzipped; for example, in pic 7, the poofiness on the bottom (I assume they are zipped) is not as flattering as the sleeker line in pic 6.

I really love them in 6. I think I prefer them with a more polished top. I think with the tee they look more pajamaesque. Admittedly, I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around this trend so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Yeah, I'm still with Kelly in that they still look like pajama pants to me. Nice, well-fitting pajama pants, but still pajama pants.

I adore them in #7, 8 and 9. With the pink tee I agree they might verge on pajama-esque. But I love the fluid fit and the drape and the option to sipper or unzipper the cuff. I think you just need to make an effort to keep the colour scheme more neutral because the pants do all the talking; with brighter colours they don't play as well with others (at least to my eye). But I really like these!

I 100% love them on you. Looks like I'm different than everyone else because I by far like all the looks with the pink top the best. To me they look fun and relaxed.

Hmm. I do like the drape better. I also think it's okay to go pajama-esque if you've got your eyes open and want to try some fashion fun.

I have trouble with pink top, too, But, I keep thinking "work" , so I would guess one could loosen up for casual wear. Also I agree re: the pants " talking" and think black is just the best look with them, even if in a T-type top. Did you try a semi-tuck for some structure?
I've had trouble with printed pants in black & white seeming to be less versatile than say, printed skirts--seem to demand tops in very closely coordinating colors, and neutrals. May just be my "eye".

I think they look great! I prefer them with the black booties, sandals, and sneakers best. Not fond of them with the other shoes choices. I really like the outfit with the leather jacket! But I like all your top choices here.

Thanks, everyone. I think I'm going to keep them. I really like the easy drapy feel. I agree that they're best with the black booties and platform sandals. The oxfords don't really work IMO. And I can objectively see that the cons work with them, but I think the sneakers-track pants combo is too sporty for me!

#9 is my favorite outfit for the record. I like 8 a lot too but with different shoes. I think I agree the pink tee doesn't quite work. But I have plenty of black and grey tees that will likely be better.

Someone asked about semi tucking. It is semi tucked in #3 and I don't like it because I think the pants are too high rise for tucking. I really only like semi tucking into low rise bottoms. But I'm fine with not tucking here.

I think you're carrying off the trend well!

The pink T stylings all appeal to me, I'd just prefer a slightly deeper pink (or other colored T). For me, the more fitted top sets off the volume below.

FWIW, I don't think you *have* to stay with grey/black/white tops but can see how that would make life easier!

I wasn't a fan of the first pair, but didn't post about it... but I like these! I thought maybe I just didn't like the pattern but I guess it was just the size after all. I like the way these fit on you and think they can be really fun. Yay!

I like them! Put me also in the pink top camp - I love the black jacket, pink tee combo. I'd like to how that pairing looks with the cons, actually. Then you'd have the structure of the jacket playing off the sportiness of the pants and sneaks. Just a thought. I also agree with you and the others about the booties and the sandals as good shoe choices. I really like the grey oxfords, too, though. Can you change the poufiness at the bottom a bit by just opening the zippers a little?
