I'm hunting for dresses and mostly rejecting what I try on. Here are three that may be acceptable. I am also trying to add texture to my wardrobe with my purchases.
1. Michael Kors denim dress- Can I get away with this? It's short but maybe not too short at 37". Most short dresses are shorter which put them in the unwearable category for me. I can sit without exposing myself, etc. It's straight but doesn't look that way when I wear it. The waist hits in the correct place. The pockets and rope belt add texture.
2. Maggy London Floral Sheath- I wonder if the colors are a bit dark for me but I like it. I kept returning to it on the Norstrom website for almost a month before I pressed the button. Something must have drawn me to it. The material has some texture is a bit nubby but it's hard to tell because of the pattern. What do you think? Should I keep it?
3. Rebecca Taylor midi dress- This didn't photograph well. The skirt is layered and has an ethereal quality as it moves with the top layer being slightly transparent. The top definitely has texture, and reminds me of the halter tops my mother purchased for me when I was in grade school. I like it for its nostagic feel although it may not be as flattering when compared with the others. The real question is whether it's awful?
I wore the same shoes and earring with each dress. It was for convenience because of time limitations. I have better options for all three.
Thanks for your feedback!
