1. K/R

2. If keep, does it need hemming?

3. I tried 2 styling ideas to show baggy and fitted (the purple top is a new Hugo Boss hand me down). I think the blue top looks good, but I'm not actually wearing it now (it's an autumn, not winter top with those sleeves) Would like to hear your thoughts on styling.

I like them, I’d say keep. I think they are best with the more fitted top. As for hemming I will leave it to the experts to comment on that :).
I would try it with various different shoes to find the best option.....

I would say keep. May be hack. But I think Angie is probably best to comment. I think I agree that fitted tops will be better.

I am not sure Anne. I'm put off by the shoes which I'm sorry look dated to me in this outfit. They're wrong colour to me, wrong style- too vintage-looking or retro and I can't see anything else.
My DD 24 is still wedded to her skinnies even though she IS old enough to remember bootcuts. Bootcuts or flares feel old-fashioned to her. Isn't fashion weird?

Thanks Jane. I'm definitely interested to see what Angie thinks too! I liked how these looked at the time but am less sure about the photos.

I'm also a bit concerned that the elastic waist is showing despite the tie.

Jenni, Actually only DD10 thought they were horrible. DD nearly15 likes them and wants a pair for herself! She has branched out from skinnies to so called "mom jeans" too!

I just left the shoes I was wearing before on, but I could certainly try others. They'd all either have straps or be boots, though, as I am one of those who can't keep shoes on, otherwise (alas).

I think shoes with straps would work. Hmmm boots might even work. Only one way to find out....

I like the purple top much more, but agree about the elastic waist. And definitely try darker shoes.

Pants looking great in nr 2, including light shoes (to a short sleeve top) for a sunny early autumn, than you can change to boots to wear with the purple top!

Anne, I think a hack of a couple of inches at least will be good here, and a fitted top will work best, or a top with more structure (not the loose sleeve of the first option). For footwear, I have absolutely worn crops/ culottes with boots and booties in winter.

I like them, but definitely team fitted top and I think for a further improvement, something that shows a bit of arm (even just scrunching the sleeves would do it I think!).

I vote keep! I like them best with the fitted top in #2, and I even like it with the light shoes, although boots, or your leopard mary janes would look good too. About the lenght, I would leave it to Angie and/or the experts here.

I think you either need to already own shoes that you like with them, or commit to finding something that goes well. I don’t think you can really throw on any old shoes and expect it to work well. I like the white shoes, but feel like those would be much nicer with a skirt or dress.

Jules - I know scrunching looks good, but I never (except when washing up) can commit to doing it in practice. Same thing, BTW with "not buttoning" a jacket. If it has buttons I'll end up buttoning.

3Style and Jussie - yes those shoes were bought specifically to wear with skirts and dresses so that makes sense. Will try with other shoes

Dianna - touched that you remember my shoes!

Suz - inspired by your boot use and in fact also from a previous fashion (maybe about 10 years ago) when I saw people wearing these with boots. Definitely hoping it would work.

Lyn67 - I do have lots of short sleeve options - and yes, if I keep this it will be something I could wear year round in my office capsule with shorter sleeves in summer.

Keep, shorten, different shoes.
Top that is a bit more fitted, wihtout necessarily being bodycon, looks better to my eye. Like the purple one.
Have you tried a white tee? A black tee?
Sleeveless tee?

I like them on you and #2 looks particularly good. I like this length and think these are brilliant for our climate, as you will be able to wear them to work in summer with sandals and in winter with your boots.
