K/R Nanette Lepore Striped Jacket and MK striped tee

Sadly, I think this jacket may be a "miss" as it seems to be ALGO for me. Here are a few pics with little styling as I was on the way out the door. I really only like it with the column of white and, for fun, I put on the Ibiza Blue silk Nexx shirt and it seemed to work with these colors. The absolute least way I liked it was with the skirt; that's just not my thing. I'd appreciate your thoughts and welcome your honesty. I'm contemplating returning it and, if I do, I'll think about buying the Theory Gabe B jacket in Indigo.

The last few pics are the Michael Kors striped tee in navy and white with the side zipper. I already have a Zara cream and navy tee and thought I needed one with white, but maybe I don't. This is nice and feels very good on. Thanks for taking a look.

I really like the t-shirt in 7-9 they look awesome with both white and black denims...

I like the jacket too with white as in photos 1 it really looks awesome. That said I liked all the ways you styled it too:) It's just that 1 is my fav :)... I would keep the jacket.. but then I love colors

The jacket looks nice, but is ALGO for me, too, so I'll let others weigh in on that. The striped top is absolutely fabulous and you should definitely keep!

I actually love the jacket on you, especially in pics two and four! I can see how it would feel ALGO. It takes a bit of confidence to pull a jacket like that off. Right now you sound hesitant, but do you think your nerve might increase a little with each wearing? if so, I vote keep!

The tee is great.

I love the jacket with the white and actually with the skirt, too. It is definitely ALGO, though. If you're not head over heels for it, I'd suggest returning it.

I absolutely adore this jacket. I wish it were within my budget or I'd have purchased it already. You look wonderful in it. I love every single outfit. I hope you'll keep it.

I really like them all, but only you know whether you will reach for that jacket or let it grow lonely in your closet. #7-9 is more your style, but I guess you have to decide whether you want to try ALGO or not. I like skirt versions, but for some reason they remind me of the 1980s, but I'm not sure why.

You look amazing! I love the blazer on you. Do you love having signature items like this and wearing them again and again? Or, do you prefer more basic pieces that you can remix -- creating memorable looks, rather than wearing memorable items?

The Blazer is a stand-out and I guess it is a matter of if you like being noticed or prefer to blend-in with the crowd!

LOVE the tee... but I think the jacket is overwhelming you. Plus I think, more and more, if you don't love something when you put it on, there is probably something else better out there.

On second thought, I do agree with Rae - if you don't LOVE it, return it. It's not an inexpensive piece, so not worth keeping if you aren't feeling the "I can't wait to wear this" buzz.

Have you tried the Nanette Lepore blazer with softer colors? Maybe a denim shirt, or lightwash jeans? Olive, khaki?

I love your styling in 1/2 and 5 with the black pants. Personally I think if you keep your styling simple then I don't view it as ALGO. It looks amazing but you have to love it. And the striped top is totally fab on you Vicki

Vicki, I think this jacket is divine on you, but you have to love it to keep it. It does seem to fit with your playful personality more so than the Theory jacket. But again, you have to think that to keep it.

The striped top is gorgeous on you.

I really like the jacket on you too. It is the color palette that I love and I like every combination you put together but particularly the ones with the white shirt. I can see it with a white t-shirt and jeans too.

I think you have styled both pieces brilliantly,I find it hard to vote return as a result. However, if you don't feel the jacket is you, I think you should return . I can see it's ALGO but it is an interesting departure from your core style. I think the MK top is a classic, I like striped tops myself.

I really love it with the white top and jeans especially, but if you're not feeling it, then time to send it back!

ETA: One thing interesting I notice: The placement of the stripes creates an optical illusion (lighter blue and bolder, wider stripes on the shoulders, darker, less contrasty stripes on the lower part), making your shoulders look a bit broader than they actually are. I like the IT look :), but that may be another thing that's bothering you?

I want to love the jacket. I loved its colors & its picture when Angie posted it. But I think the colors overwhelm you. And I think you might tire of it pretty quickly. It's too bold or something. And if you can't wear this jacket, there's no hope for the rest of us! The MK tee, on the other hand, is up to your usual wonderful style.

The jacket looks stunning on you in all the versions you've tried here. It is more ALGO than your usual style in terms of bright colour palette but don't be too hasty to send it back - sit on it for a bit if you can. It really looks amazing on you. I like the idea of pairing it with a soft denim shirt and white jeans.

The striped tee is a no brainer - fabulous!

Just echoing everyone else here, Vicki. I think the jacket looks sensational on you and I love each and every variation you try. I also think it fits with your playful side. BUT, if you're not feeling the love and hesitate to wear it, then it may be best to return. I'd hang onto it as long as possible just to be sure. The cut and fit look great!

Love the T as well - please do keep that one!

You can maintain a minimalist sensibility with this jacket -- you've done it beautifully in No. 1, which is likely why you are drawn to the column of white. I like it best when you wear it with white, and it fits you like a glove. I like it very much, but you need to love it at any price.

The MK top? AMAZING. That is a real showstopper. Perfect for you in every way.

I love the jacket on you esp. with the white jeans in 1 & 3. You look amazing in it. But if you don't love it, you won't wear it and it should go back. It all depends on whether you feel this is a "possible you" vs. "not you", maybe a bit of a stretch but something you could grow into. You know, aspirational vs. feeling like a costume. I think you could own this look and make it your own, but if you're not feeling the love for it I vote pass. Statement pieces should inspire love, otherwise you will feel uncomfortable wearing them and won't feel confident.
