KR: long cardigan

I have never worn a long cardigan before. I always felt like I didn’t have the shoulders for it.
What do you think? I have styled it three different ways: hair down, hair up, and a jean jacket.

Pics 4 and up are some examples of other outfits I wear. You can see they’re preppy. I’m wondering whether the more boho look of the long cardigan fits with the preppier looks. I think it probably does, but I am looking for confirmation.

I think it fits your style: it’s a very clean look. I do agree that structure around the shoulders works very well for you. So I’m undecided because you do look very slim, tall and even angelic in this style

I like the long cardi on you a LOT. My super fave is pic 1 with hair down and cardi on its own. I think the sneakers keep the outfit in your classic/preppy wheelhouse.

It looks super! I especially like it with the denim jacket over. I think the white colour makes it less boho than other colours; the light colour makes it sharper.

I like it - especially alone. I see it as lean minimalist not boho but you could style it that romantic direction if you liked. Nice line on you!!

I am not 100% sure. I agree with Liesbeth that you look slim, tall and even angelic: but I also find it a bit overwhelming. It is so *very* long. I own one long cardigan currently which I bought this year and like but it is not as long as yours.

Sooo pretty! I love it in #1. With your hair up in #2 I get almost a ballerina-on-her-way-to-the-studio vibe. Ethereal indeed.

I find duster-length toppers really tough to style. I have a lightweight black vest that's almost as long as this cardi and I definitely don't consider it the most versatile piece in my closet, but it adds a lot to certain outfits, so I'm hanging onto it. If budget allows, I think you should keep this because it's different from your usual and will be a fun experiment.

i like it a lot....looks good as styled...also try it with leggings...i'd love to see what it looks like with the jeans and shoes in photo #6, in my mind that would give a really interesting preppie vibe....

I really like the long cardi! I do prefer it on its own, though, without the jeans jacket. I feel that there is too much going on (too many competing lines) in the outfit with the cardi and jeans jacket.

All outfits are fabulous. As others have said the longline cardi works because it's simple and minimalistic - patterned or uneven hemline (things I consider real boho hallmarks) would probably have been a detail too far!

I think it looks great and not boho the way you are wearing it. Do you wear midi skirts/dresses in Spring/Summer? I think it would look great over that silhouette too. I do kind of wish it was a couple of inches shorter. It’s almost maxi length. But I think that’s the way hem lengths are going here - longer and longer. So no problem if you like it. I see no flattery issues.

Oh, I love it! My favourite pic is no. 1, where the cardi steals the show and your lovely long hair adds a relaxed element.

I agree that it is less structured and preppy than some of the other outfits you posted, but I still think it is consistent with the overall look. The long clean vertical line and the colour makes it look more preppy than boho. I would think of it as something you reach for when you want something cosy and less structured, but that is still your style.

I like the long cardigan the best in #2 with your hair up. Neck gives structure to compensate for the lack of tailored shoulders maybe? Your outfits are all terrific but my favorite is #6!

Ideally, I think one a little bit shorter (still long, but a few inches less) would be ideal and a bit easier to style. And of course I'm a huge lover of pale grey long cardigans (I can't live without one, it seems!) so I may be biased in favour of the idea. My own is a bit shorter than this but a similar vibe and I love it.

LOVE your other outfits, too. Preppy, maybe (and again, as you know, I have a weakness for prep!) But not entirely preppy. I would say trendy more than preppy. Modern classic with a youthful twist and a bit of a "cool" factore.

I love it - the white is dramatic and unexpected. As for your style, I love Suz's analysis - you definitely have a cool and youthful factor, so playing around the edges with boho (wavy hair and long cardigan) and harder edge elements (such as your black leather moto and distressed jeans) also works perfectly for your style.

I like the cardigan on you. My favourite look is #1 with your hair down. I am also challenged by long cardigans because of my shoulders. I don't notice this with you. To my eye you look stylish. Interesting look with the jean jacket over the cardigan.
