I wouldn't label anything I'm seeing as either preppy OR boho. That's a great cardi, the length makes it a statement piece. I am not on board with the jean jacket over top, though. It just looks awkward. And are those the fabulous Levi Wedgies in pic #6? You struck gold with that pair!

Late to this thread, but love the cardi in both pictures.... It suits you and your clean modern style beautifully.

I don’t think this particular cardigan looks boho. It’s very neat and streamlined.

I love the long cardigan look, so I'm highly prejudiced in its favor! You look adorable. I will note that you do have to hold it up like the skirt of a Victorian lady going down stairs (or it will drag) and restrooms are tricky!

My favorites are #1 and #6. Love the long sweater, I think it looks great on you.

Very pretty the way you've styled it. It would also look great with dresses, but I don't know if dresses are your jam or not.

Thanks for all your feedback!
I have decided to return it for practicality and budget reasons!
I could only really wear this item in the summer and spring (so that's 4 months max) and for the spring months, I'd have to wear it with the jean jacket or leather jacket, which is alright, but not a good everyday look.
It also rains a lot in the spring and summer here (lots of precipitation) and I can so see this getting dirty pretty quickly. Further, I could only wear it with tank tops as the sleeves are tight and see through.

All of the above wouldn't be a dealbreaker if I had a good foundation of cotton sweaters, and I don't. Why don't I? Because I'm an emotional shopper who finds it really, REALLY hard to buy a basic navy sweater

Liesbeth: Ok, good to know it is more clean and less boho. 'Angelic' is a nice work. I definitely not serene but it's nice to know I appear that way, haha!
Bonnie: Thanks!
Christina: Thanks!
Kellygirl: I'm glad you think it's sleek and modern. I think that look is more in my wheelhouse than boho (although I do like anything by Frye
SarahD8: I think I prefer the cardi on its own too. THis has been an interesting exercise because I seem to have discovered that just changing 1 variable (sweater) and leaving everything else the same sort of makes things fit in within my existing style.
Jane: Interesting observation on the colour. I think you're right, and that a earthier colour might make it more boho.
Sal: Thanks! Right I guess the long straight line is more minimalist. Maybe if the cardi had more bells and whistles, it would read more boho.
Jenni NZ: Thanks Jenni! Yah, it IS long, and I was questioning the length a little. I've decided it looks alright, but sadly, it is not that practical for my climate, where it rains a lot, and it's cold. I'd need to wear it with a topper a lot of the time.
LPed: Thanks for your perspective on the styling issues. I think it would be easy enough to style, but the problem is my climate. It is so long, I see it getting dirt and mud on it. If I reserved it just for beautiful sunny days, it wouldn't get much wear. That in itself is not that big a deal, but the fact is that I need more regular, 'workhorse', toppers. So I am strongly thinking about returning this.
bridgie: Thank you!
Cardiff girl: thank you!
kkards: It is interesting you mention styling it with the items in #6. With the pants it would work, but the shirt is too bulky to be worn under such a thin cardigan. In fact, anything with sleeves would be too bulky, which is another strike against this cardigan.
lisa p: Yes, the jacket over the long cardi is a little unorthodox. Just trying it out because realistically, I'd have to wear a topper with it in May and June.
Gigi: Thanks, yes, there might be too many competing lines with the cardigan. Thanks!
fithandfinest: Ok, yes, it seems as though the lack of pattern and uneven hemline of the cardi takes it out of boho territory. Thanks for those observations!
Brooklyn: Thanks, and that's a great idea to pair it with a midi dress/skirt. Sadly, I currently only have 1 midi dress with sleeves. Any type of sleeve under this cardigan would not work as the cardi is a bit see-through and the sleeves are tight. Thanks for the jean jacket love! I think maybe a shorter jean jacket would work even better...
hereforthecake: Thanks!
Taylor: Thanks!
StyleDetective: Right, exactly! It would work very well for a cozier look, and I DO like that sort of thing.
shevia: Thanks! It's good to know the hair up looks good. I sort of didn't like that one as much, but it may be because I'm more used to seeing myself with my hair down now.
rachylou: Thanks for the striped jumper love! I love the colour combo.
Elizabeth P: Thanks!
Joy: Thanks!
Suz: Thanks! I often wonder about using the word 'preppy' to describe myself (and others on the forum). I think I am more like a 'modern classic' who wears a lot of non-black neutrals.
Bijou: I think you really hit the nail on the head, and I like the idea of "playing around on the edges" of boho and hard edge. I think I will add that phrase to my YLF profile!
Opaline: Thank you for chiming in! I think #6 is my favourite too. Thanks for the validation, and I might do more of this exact silhouette in different colours.
Style Fan: Thanks! I think of you has having the same shoulders as I do (but a curvier body). I think you could do a long cardigan (however, not sure whether it would work for your lifestyle!)
Bennett: Good to know these outfits don't read too boho or preppy, as I don't feel to comfortable in either camp. Yah, those are the Levis Wedgies in 6! I think they look really good and I'm so happy to have them. The only issue is, sigh, lifestyle, and the fact that they're hard to wear most of the year.
Katerina: Thanks!
Jenn: THanks! It is good to know it isn't boho. I think in my 20s I was more boho, and I do like the aesthetic, especially the jewelry and the easy vibes. But I only like a small amount of it on me
KikiG: I know! I tried going up and down stairs in it and noticed how I'd need to hold it up Hadn't thought about restrooms.

Robyn F: Thanks! I like 6 too! I think I might try more of this look. The shirt is actually warm enough for my office without a topper, so this is also a practical look. I could put together a few other colour combinations.

Lucy: Thanks! Yes, dresses are my jam but I think I'd have to use sleevless ones with this cardi, and the sleeves of the cardi are see-through and tight.

Oh, well I thought it was AMAZING, but follow your gut; it's not the last long cardi you'll see!

You have amazing style - I don't see it so much preppy; more model off- duty! Classic with a strong dollop of trendy. Very 2019 from what I can see!

#1 and #2 are GORGEOUS. But I agree that the cardI is VERY long. How about trying one in a mid-thigh length? By the way, I love your bag.

I love it ALL. Your curly hair is SUBLIME.

Good on you for being PPP. It’s really pretty, but then the image of it getting all dirty around the bottom with mud or worse is not a good one!

Love it in 1 and 2 too, sad you didn't keep it.
But, they are very hard to layer over, since very long coats are absent right now-so very limited use as you said I have one and love it, but wish it was shorter than my coat!

Happy to chime in & validate. That silhouette in different colors is gold.
I liked them all but it was interesting seeing you in that different jean style, works really well on you.
