Hi, the second batch of Jason Wu Target stuff arrived! Here is the poplin dress that we've been discussing. It's size 6. I think this might actually be the right size for me. I'm not as happy with how it looks from the side--the waist feels a little high and the skirt a little short (I'm used to midi length now). I would be happier if the waist and skirt length were just a couple inches lower (I'm 5'5"). But I think it looks better when I add my red belt and with the red trench...what do you think? Which do you like better, dress 1-5 or 6/7? #8/9 is the black pleated skirt (size 6)--also a little shorter than I'm used to. The gold colored top in #8 and pink blouse in #9 are a size S. I forgot to tuck the gold top into the skirt, I think that would look better. Not sure I look good in pink though. #10/11 is the sheer top (S) and skirt (6) that looks so great in the Target ad in 12, but on me I'm not so sure. I feel like it makes my shoulders look broad. (Excuse the black bra straps at the sides, I would have to wear a strapless bra). Which do you like better, #10 or #13?

I like dress #6-7 better - but I wouldn't say it's fab perfection on you. Sorry I can't be more positive It seems like the whole Jason Wu collection is a bit disappointing!

I like 1 with a belt, 6 without and 13. For me this would be the perfect breezy summer length. Do you think you will wear these come summer or will they languish in the closet? We have a very hot summer season so I am always on the lookout to fill the cute light airy dress capsule. There is definitely something cute and retro about #1 on you.

I am afraid I am in total disagreement with Laura, I think only the last dress is worth keeping. It is a good length, is flattering and seems a better material. And I like it in 10 best, absolutely! Keep 10!

I totally agree with Jayne. I read something in one of Angie's posts on wardrobe organising recently that mentioned that all your clothes should be 'cherries', i.e. something that looks *amazing* so it doesn't just sit in the wardrobe gathering dust.

I think number 10 is really, really lovely. Keep this one for sure. The others I'm not so keen on, they just don't seem to drape/flow as nicely. Number 10 seems like it would be extremely versatile and looks delightful on you!

I am not keen on the fit through the bust of the first dress (horizontal pull lines apparent in the side view shots). I like the last two dresses (10 or 13) best out of all of these things.

hmmmm, I'd keep 10 or 13. I totally missed out on this collection at Target. I would have loved to try on #1 (totally my style)

I like #4, with a belt, but I see the pulling in the bust that Jonesy is talking about.

I like #10, but I wonder if what the mesh/fabric transition looks like IRL.....is the material comfortable?

#13 is OK.

All in all, I think I vote to return the lot.

These are all so cute and I can see why you liked them. I'm not loving the cuts of all of them on your frame however. Something about them make you look short waisted and the shorter hem lengths have a broadening effect that a midi full skirt or a pencil of this length don't have. The last two dresses are the best because they fabric collapses at your sides and drapes beautifully. Really spring-y and light. Nice!

I like 10 and 13, and am not crazy about the rest. For 10 and 13, I'd probably only keep one, since they are so similar. 13 seems more comfy and breezy, but what does it look like from the side?

Overall I think this lot is better than the first. I like that first dress belted, but am having a hard time voting without seeing it pressed. I know that would make it look even better. The dress in pics 6/7 looks better to me without the belt. I rather like the pleated skirts on you, but I'm not as crazy about the blouses. And it might just be me, but #13 looks to be the least flattering in the waistline.

Is there any item that you just love the look, fit, and feel of?

I agree with Claire, Natalie. These aren't as amazing as you are and are sorta making you look too hippy and I know you aren't. You are too wonderful and have come such a long way. These pieces are a step back for you.

I think #13 is great on you; it also is very flattering and looks like it would be versatile. I still love 6/7. I don't find any of the others to be flattering.

I like the first dress much more than the second, but now that Jonesy's pointed it out, I can't get over the pulling under the arm. Maybe try a couple of different bras with it to make sure it really is the wrong size?

I think neither of those tops is all that great, so unless you have a different top you could wear with that skirt, or plan to buy another...? Do you particularly live the skirt?

The last two dresses, I think I'm on the fence. I actually like the first a bit more overall, but the second is almost as good belted and I'm liking that neckline better on you (it's not so much the shoulders, for me, which I think looks great in the first).

I don't much care for any of these looks on you, I think they're cut a bit "young" - like a schoolgirl smock - and I'm not sure of the quality. I do like the last skirt, minus the top, though.

I definitely like the navy dress better with the red belt - more waist defining. and the red trench really adds some great color. My other favorites are 8, 9, 10 and 13, with the 13 being on top. Looks like you got a great haul!

Natalie, you like to investigate to the fullest! Lol! I think the Jason Wu collection is being harshly overcriticized. It's his interpretation of fashion-for-all (mass production for every size & shape on a budget), so it's meant to be fun and up-to-the-minute chic rather than timeless pieces, I would think. The price says so too! So in that regard, dress #1 and #10 look adorable and fresh for spring/summer (and something you can play around in!), while the blouse in #9 looks great for work or dressier daytime outings. I like it a little better than #8 blouse, just because it's a little different, more lighthearted! I like the black pleated skirt too!

My favorites are 3/4 (first dress belted) and 13. 10/11 is in 2nd place. I'm not wild about the rest - I don't think they flatter your figure well.

My concern about the first dress, which is my personal favorite just in terms of design, is the bunching at the side/under your arms. It looks like it may not be a good fit and/or uncomfortable. I think the high waist and length look just fine on you.

How is the quality?

I think the problem with all but #13 is that the cut is primitive, not a lot of attention given to the fit of the pattern. #10 is OK too, I'm not sure what your goal is for these pieces but if you are aiming for only the best of the best then I would say #13. It suits your style and it fits you well.

I like #1 without the belt - the bright red belt actually emphasizes the waist placement issues. I still don't think it's quite a 10, though.

I like #10 the best - the fabric seems to be behaving nicely, the waist is in a good spot, and the sheer top part is fun yet still in line with your demure persona. I give that one an 8.5-9.

The rest are all around a 5 to my eye. Smack in the middle, kinda meh. Your bar is set very high, Natalie!

I think we're all over the map here on this. I like #10 best and I think #6 is an interesting shift look and better "without" the belt. I personally think you look fine in the pink-with-black-edging blouse in #9. But, if you just want only one Wu piece, I would vote for #10 over all the others.

I like #1 from the front, but not especially from the side. The rest I'm not that crazy about. You already have such amazing clothes, I think these can't really compete.

You are brave and tireless in trying on everything. Thanks for taking the time to share your photos.

I have to say I like 13. It is flirty and looks fun and versatile.

Now for The bad news. Dress 1 kind of looks little girly with the high waist and short hem. Dress 6 just looks like a big t shirt to me. I'd much rather see you in your pretty black outfit with the blue blazer, or some of your pretty skirts and blouses from earlier in the winter.

The yellow top looks flimsy and not your best sunny color, and the pink one reminds me of sheer nylon tricot of vintage nightie fame. Of course it may all be just my computer images, but I agree you already have things that are so much nicer.

I like 13 better than 10. The sheer top yoke looks sort of limiting in where you could wear it.

Although I like the dress/trench combo, realistically, you won't always be wearing it with outerwear. I'm going to be honest again and say I don't think any of these are fab enough for you. Yes they are inexpensive but they still shouldn't make you compromise on the little details. Sorry, Natalie - I feel like such a naysayer lately.

Thanks everyone for your input! I was kind of cringing every time I opened this thread, but I really appreciate the honesty. I'm kind of sad these things don't look better on me--they looked so cute online, but the fit is weird and the quality isn't that great. At this point I'm leaning toward keeping the first and the last dress (1-5 and 13, although 10 is still a contender) for casual summer dresses, although still not 100% sure. If anyone wants any of the rest, let me know otherwise I'm returning it all to Target. Oh well, worth a try!

I like the dress in 1-4. Maybe I am just not that fashionable (heck, I don't even wear skirts) but I like that length (I am not into midis; IMHO they make most people of average height look short), and I think it's fun. I like the yellow top in #8, you could wear it alone or layer it a bunch of different ways. I really don't like the dress in pic 6, but it looks a little better with the belt. The top in 9 is cute, but looks like the fabric drapes kind of weirdly around the armpits? I like the last dress as well. I have not, however, seen any of these pieces in person so I am not sure what the quality is like.

I don't really think that any of these do you justice. The price is nice, I know - but that is no reason to buy them. I'd save my money on something more fab!
