So the houndstooth vest finally arrived! I was unsure about sizing, so I ordered it in a S and a M.
Quality-wise, I don’t expect this is a piece that will last forever. It’s not bad, just seems about par for the price point. Polyester blend. Beware that it did shed a bit of white fluff on the black tee I tried it over. I consider this an inexpensive trend piece that I would not expect to wear for many years, but would hope to get a couple of seasons out of.
It’s not the most flattering thing ever on my body shape — it is boxy and a little oversized, which I don’t mind as long as it looks intentional. I’ve styled it here roughly as they did in the catalog, but it may be that it would work better on me styled with bootcuts. But I got hot and tired trying these on, on a warm day, so this is as much as I tried for now.
I’ve shown the smaller size here in pics 1, 3, and 5. Larger size in 2, 4, and 6. I can layer a roomy topper over it as in 7. Pic 8 is the catalog styling — I tried a semi tuck but it looked awful. My short torso is not conducive to that look.
