Okay, back!
Kathie, I do kind of like having the "dress effect" option. Plus, I sometimes get bored of black bottoms or want something lighter in the summer, so that was my thought process in ordering.
La Pedestrienne, Janet, Jill, Style Fan, and Kerlyn, you all have me questioning my instincts about shortening now. I definitely don't want to shorten it so it sits at the thickest point of my calf, but I also feel a little dowdy at the current length. Maybe natural shrinkage will be just enough.
Suz, I'm really taken with how the pieces mix and match with black. I feel like I could take these four pieces, a pair of jeans, a striped tee, and a topper and be more or less set for a summer vacation.
jussie, I mean a certain homespun, hippie aesthetic.I have friends who absolutely pull that off, but it's not me.
Lisa, you've pretty much articulated my internal monologue. I do like the skirt a bit better with the Chucks, though, so maybe the combo of the length and the boho sandals are pushing it over the edge and I should try some different stylings.
Joy, this skirt is a faux-wrap with the belt stabilizing and covering an elastic waist, so you'd want your normal EF size. I thought I might try a size down, but I realized I wouldn't want it to sit any higher on my waist, because that would hide the belt tie detail.
Isabel, yes! That line between "crunchy" and "casual elegance" is exactly what I'm concerned about!
