Score! Please keep!

Fit is excellent, and I second Denise: these read contemporary and not trendy on you. I also agree that you can, if you choose, treat these more like pants than leggings -- they have enough structure.

I love the fact that they're dark, but not quite black -- much more interesting to the eye!

All --

Thank you all for helping me sort through the top length issues and my concerns that I might not be carrying these off the way I hoped!

Joy, Lyn, and Janet -- Thank you! I do like to put a (pointy, in this case) toe out of my comfort zone every season but it's almost always done with trepidation, ha.

Scarlet -- Have you showed and telled your version of coated? [Brain dead here.] I have to admit I could really see these working well for someone like you or Mo. The seaming reminds me of cargo pants without those pesky pockets.

Clearlyclaire, Caro, and Beth Ann thank you as well; I do have my usual long-torso + rise fit issues with these: Unless I'm wearing high-waisted skirts or Ed Grimley-style pants, tops need to be about upper hip or longer so "show the booty" doesn't turn to "plumber's derrière."

[Another good reason for me to listen to Neha's advice (thank you!).]

CocoLion -- Glad my color thoughts helped; get those babies out and about! Whatever you're doing with skinnies it works for me. I've shown with "just" my 2.5" Ara booties and would go up/avoid down.

Nopes, but maybe I will sometimes this winter. I in fact possibly have bought two versions because I was wearing them so much. (And was going on a roadtrip with a baby, if you see what I mean.) They replaced my pleather pontes from last year that I wore out. Although I still miss those a bit.
But yes, the waxed fabric works well to give something extra to casual day in and day out wear. Enjoy yours! They really do look amazing.

Keep! I love how you've styled it in #1 -- I say keep it simple with these jeans.

I am in my late 40's and just bought some for date night looks. Yours fit incredible and love how you've styled them! I agree a shirt of any length would work well. Not sure when I'll style mine, but you have me thinking!

Scarlet -- In my world, there's no shame in dupes when they are loved in used!

Day Vies -- Thanks much for the input! Simple (and tonal/monochromatic) is definitely my default with looks like this. Although I do need a few alts as that is a merino turtleneck and we're not quite there yet with weather.

TL -- Thank you and please get on that styling so I can steal some ideas, ha!

meant to chime in the other day so glad the conversation is still rolling. First - you look absolutely amazing in these outfits and jeans. Agree with all of the comments on your ability to carry off styles with tops of any length.

For you all who are shopping, I just picked up a pair of coated black jeans at Rack on Sunday - NYDJ, which is a brand I don't normally try, but i have to say that they fit me amazingly well (note to the curvy ladies!). $59.99. They are quite skinny - in fact the tag says "leggings" but they're so much more substantial than a legging and they have an ankle zipper. I really like the look of Vix's too,but I think I'm keeping them.

You look amazing in these, Vix. I would think you can totally treat these as pants as well as leggings. Laurie mentioned the NYDJ waxed leggings. I tried a pair on the other day and as someone who is shorter, heavier and older was surprised that I actually liked them on. Between cost and high maintenance factors they didn't come home with me though. They might have been fun with *my* Ara booties too

Laurie and Pil --

Thanks for the kind words and for the reviews/alert re the good buy on the waxed NYDJ legging/jeans!

Sounds like they may be worth a try for we late(r) adopters.

Laurie, perhaps we can coax you into posting what you end up pairing with yours...who knows, it might make Pil find a way to work them into her budget.

I love them! I'm almost 40, and purchased a pair of dark denim, skinny, waxy jeans a while ago, and they are fantastic! They can dress up or down, and I think give an outfit the "edge" that is sometimes needed.

Skinnies look great on you! Keep for sure!!
