K/R dark camouflage sweater

So part of my very, very long awaited package has arrived. I threw on the pullover and took a pic. Unobjectively I love it. The weight is nice. I think the shape is nice. I only hesitate because I have been on such a dark kick lately I wonder if I shouldn't rather look for color or whites instead. It's so dark it is hard to get a good photo, so I included some stock photos too. What say you? Versatile? Depressing? Too disciplined?

VERY depressingly the grey/cream/black plaid flannel shirt I ordered is WAAaay too small. I can't even close it. The fabric is thick, lovely flannel in a very sharp cut. Is this worth sizing up on or is this a message from the universe to look for some color?

Love the sweater. It's edgy and cool. You look so effortlessly stylish in it. I'm kind of meh on the plaid--but that's generally how I feel about all plaid (so feel free to ignore me.)

I love the sweater too. I'm not sure about the plaid, how complicated would an exchange be? It looks like it could have potential and I'd be tempted to try the larger size if the fabric is as nice as you said.

I love them both. The sweater looks fab for the season and I vote keep.
I love a plaid shirt in the wardrobe so I would try a size up unless the cut is not speaking to you. I do like the print.

I love the sweater. I think it does not matter it's dark, in fact it looks sharp and the fit is great. (May I ask the source? I'm learning a lot from Astrid already re on-line shopping here )

I also think the shirt is worth sizing up. While I don't 'speak' plaid, I love seeing pretty examples on others. This one looks very pretty to my eye and sounds like you've warmed up to it. Plus, speaking of warmth, you can't really go wrong with it climate-wise, no? My only concern is that the sleeves look just right on this size, so the next size up might have longer sleeves - but then again, it may all shrink a bit in the washing. Which probably means sizing up by 1 and 2 sizes, just for comparison and please check the care label to see how much it might shrink.

I really like the sweater, and I would try the next size up of the plaid shirt (though I have a sugar eye for plaid, so take that with a grain of salt)

The sweater has that perfect fluid fit a definite keep and the shirt has potential so I would try sizing up.

I also would not worry about the lack of colour, I think it is natural for buying patterns to skew one way and then another when it comes to colour. I would only reconsider if the dark clothes begin to feel too sober.

I echo what Jules said. The sweater looks wonderful on you, Scarlet, please keep. And definitely worth a try sizing up on the plaid shirt (it has white in it, so we won't even count that as a "dark item"

LOVE the pullover on you. And I think the flannel is worth sizing up; it's not just small in one area; it looks like sizing up won't swallow you up in any dimension.

Thanks for this feedback, and Yay! I cut the tags and wore the sweater today. I get that some people don't love plaid, but I am glad the people who do love plaid think that this one is a goody. I'll try to get another size.

Inge, you are so smart And you are right that this plaid actually reads quite soft and light as opposed to dark.

ETA: I meant to say to Jules that I have been thinking of you in my big grey phase lately. I know you mentioned you are having a similar one.

I love the sweater and think you should keep it. I don't have a strong feeling about the plaid, but if were easy to exchange it, perhaps you could style it differently, and see how you feel.
