K/R: Allsaints sago dress - YouLookFab Forum

I rarely post K/R as you fabbers know. I tend not to second guess myself although I do end up with orphans in my closet from time to time.

So strangely enough: I love this dress and actually feel sexy in it despite its oversized look.

Angie suggested wearing it as a tunic over slim fit pants. I tried it with olive cargos=fail. I like it better with the slim jeans/jeggings. However I would love to wear it as a dress with colored pumps and clutch. Say red high heel pumps with a red clutch,etc.

As such cpw will be low as I plan to wear it in summer and to warm weather vacation spots. However.....

I am very inclined to keep it.....

So do I have " OMG: its from Allsaints and I feel sexy in it!" goggles on?

bonus: what I am wearing today- zara cobalt top and denim jeggings ( dear john is the name of the brand of these high waisted jeggings! :))

I like the dress best as a tunic with skinnies and I would add heels.

Somehow the barelegged look is missing it for me, and I think it has to do with the color of the dress. Maybe black tights would make it seem more finished?

I love it. But you knew I'd say that. I love volume + bare legs or skinnies. You might be able to size down but I really adore this silhouette.

I can't say that I love it as a dress on it's own but with the skinnies, OMG it's suddenly perfect and you look fantastic in it this way. And you look beautiful in the cobalt sweater and denim as well.

I LOVE the top. I would wear it with opaque leggings even though I'm not supposed to. I also might wear it with the bottom of a tube or pencil skirt just peeking out if I wanted to do bare legs, or if when I bent over it pulled up too much in the back.

It's sexy and alluring, but I am wondering if it is too big. I think I would prefer it with stockings or leggings, although the current shoes you have on could be throwing me off. I like Rabbits suggestion of a fitted mini under it for just a bit more structure.

I like it with the jeans better because of the color difference. I also second the legging idea with booties.

I'm also in the camp of loving it with skinnies/jeggings. I'm not loving it as a dress either but can't exactly say why. Maybe because of the drape and movement it works better IRL.

You know, I really love this dress on you. I don't know why this surprises me. It caught my eye right away in Angie's post. Maybe in my heart of hearts I thought it might be a little too much for Real Life. Come to think of it, tho, that may be why I like it so much on you. You look *unleashed* - very free, totally you and no repression. Definitely sexy, as a dress or with skinnies.

I really like how it looks on you with skinny pants under it. I'm not a fan of it as a dress with bare legs but that might be the shoe you're wearing it with throwing me off or possibly the pale color of the dress being too close to the pale color skin. Not sure.

Regardless, I say if you love it and will wear it either way, keep it!

Sona this is gorgeous on you. I also suggest wearing it as a tunic. I do like it with the skinny jeans but I think I might favour it with a nice substantial weight ponte leggings with boots. You now have me lusting after this

Sona - I really like this. I would like it best as a dress with tights and booties. Maybe a long necklace or pendant. I would love this with black leggings and same or even with a scarf. Elegant in a kind of modern version of Flashdance and I mean that in the most flattering way. Jennifer Beal was incredibly awesome and there is that same kind of slouchy elegance, not trying but somehow soooooooooooooooooo cool!!

This dress has the same feel as the Drina dress, so I'm all "YES!" with it. I love my Drina and it has that same boxy and loose, but somehow still attractive-feeling vibe about it. You are going to have a great time wearing it!

I like it best of all with the leggings and would also love it with black leggings or ponte pants. I think you can wear it bare-legged, too, but maybe with different footwear -- worth experimenting a bit, anyway. The drape is amazing and you will have so much fun with it! It would be interesting to compare the size down, maybe. And do the sit test in both versions and if one works as a dress and the other doesn't, then you have your answer for which size to keep.

I love it as a tunic, and I think it would look better as a dress with tights. But overall I love the look.

Something about the color or shape brings out the beauty of your face. I would probably wear it with tights or skinnies, but that's just me. Definitely keep in any event!

re: sizing down, if you lose much length it could start to look skimpy, IMHO. I love this on you! Fantastic over the skinnies, i think try leggings or tights (maybe with a little funky texture?) with booties and big scarf, and i'd love to see it with heeled strappy sandals and pushed up sleeves and a low ponytail or messy updo and striking earrings for spring!

Wow, another fab item from AllSaints! I agree with what some others have said about preferring it with leggings and also possibly sizing down. More love from me for the cobalt sweater, which is a gorgeous color for you.
Sona, everytime I see pics of you, I'm struck by how beautiful you are! You and your style seem quintessentially ladylike to me, in all the positive senses of that term ( see the thread about ladylike versus feminine).

Oh this is super on you Sona! I'd also be curious about a size down, but wouldn't want to see any of the length lost so that you still have the option of wearing as a dress. It looks FAB as a tunic, no doubts there. As a dress I think short boots or booties, oxfords, low pumps, and wedge sneakers could all be fun options.
