I really like it! I vote keep. You definitely do not look ridiculous in it. You look amazing!

If you don't wear a lot of animal print, your daughter might be reacting to that. I know that when I first started wearing animal print, many people were surprised. Now they don't even look twice .

Ahh! It was your DD with the Boden top!

So many helpful comments, you ladies are so lovely, thank you all.
Yes, I am planning to wear shoes with it LOL. I am still struggling with foot pain and could not force myself to wear any shoes last night when I took the picture.
DD 11 is not into patterns except for some rare stripes or plaid, and that could be main reason for her attitude. That is a great observation that I didn’t think of.
Regarding the fit - dress is so stretchy that it can fit perfectly anyone. It is also great for weight fluctuations - it can easily accommodate one size up or down.
I am going to a birthday party tomorrow and itching to wear this dress so it is probably a good sign. But on the other hand still thinking about ordering the other color just to compare.
Regarding toppers - planning to try it on with black blazer, black cardi and a denim jacket. Any other suggestions? Maybe a cropped turquoise cardi? Footwear will probably be black boots.

How about trying a red topper with the dress? Or maybe red accessories?
Your red booties?

Katerina, red, of course! Thank you!

Anchie - I love this dress on you and think adding red or another bright solid colour as a topper would be beautiful. I have a blue coat with black buttons, so I would wear that as a topper in cool weather.

Bijou - thank you so much. I was kind of tired last night and was not thinking straight. Completely forgot about the coat and I am worried now that none of my coats will work. I remember discussion about what coat to wear over midi and that many had trouble with this.

Is your daughter a teenager? In which case it’s your duty to wear this dress and look fabulous in it as you do.l always say to my teenager that I have to embarrass her regularly in her teenage years otherwise she will grow up emotionally stunted. Not that you look at all embarrasing in this dress, quite the opposite.ln fact that might be the problem, girls don’t necessarily want their mums to look hot.As your DH likes it I d keep it ,your DD will soon get over it .

Cardiff Girl - DD is 11 but she is acting and looking like teenager. Very different than my DS who didn’t become teenager until arround 15 years and is just coming to the other side at almost 21. How old is your DD?

Late to the show, but lovely dress and with red shoes and bag fantastic. I have summer zebra dress and mostly wear red accessories (I posted the outfit maybe a year ago).

I like it and think its harmonious with your coloring. DD is probably in or getting to the "why cant you be like the other moms" phase. Thats the same phase that her friends will say "your mom is so cool"!

Edited original post to add more pictures. What do you think?

Suntiger - you are so right - she is even offering to shop for me so that I don’t embarrass her.

What a fun, colorful assortment of toppers you have!!! So fab! I like the dress with the red and the camel color toppers best.

She'll feel bad about that later in life, especially when her own children do the same to her!
I like it with the red booties especially, and the shorter jackets work best to my eye. But I like the red and the camel best of the long coats. Not so much the double breasted ones with it due to the skirt volume.

I think this dress looks lovely on you, Anchie. I will admit Ilike it better with a topper, as it softens the amount of pattern a bit, but I still like it without. You have a great selection of toppers to wear with a dress... when I go to do this type of exercise I feel all my jackets are too long.

Ingore DD. I bet she’s projecting her own style choices onto you In this case, anyway.

Oh, and I think this one will be better than the other one on you ... the colouring is bang on.

I liked Brooklyn's possible explanations for DD's dislike of the dress.

All topper and footwear renditions work well, Anchie. My faves are: #2, 4, 5, 8 and 9. I like the dress best on its own with footwear and necklace. I like the pattern, which helps.

Back for another look and thrilled to see the added photos! This is the perfect print and shape to add any of your collected colors to and walk out with a striking outfit. Plus, I love the print on its own (WITH shoes of course, tee hee!) and in no way see it as too busy or too much. You could be a street style star in my opinion.
I am reminded of a rib-knit turtleneck midi I own, which I purchased in the largest size available since it was still only about a foot wide on the hanger. It skims instead of clings, I would suggest anyone try sizing up in this style of dress for a relaxed comfort.

I like them all!

Even though it's theoretically a "bold" print, because it's an all-over, composed of relatively few shapes and colors, I'm seeing it almost more as a textured dress, and in a neutral color, so I'm pretty open to styling options.

It looks and fits great and although on its own has a statement type vibe, works perfectly, almost like a neutral, under the variety of toppers you've tried.

I love them all!!!

Red was my first thought, but the turquoise jeans jacket is my favorite here.

All these combinations work very well! I particularly like the various red toppers and the version with the red boots is super. Anorher favourite is the tan coat.
You have a great collection of outerwear, wow!

Love it alone and with red and camel (but they all work)!

Tags are off and I am wearing it to a birthday party today. Shoes not important since I will take them off at the door and this is how I will actually look.
Bracelet or necklace? Not both

You can see DH playing guitar in the background LOL

Oh I love the red accents! You look fab.To answer your earlier question my DD is 15 so only 5more years of being an embarrassment to go!(she s a sweet heart really)

I like it on you, nr 2-,4, 6,7,8,9. IT's an elegant length first of and a classic patter. Just don't really in love when paired with bright colors like turquoise as the cream in the dress is more muted. Lime would be great but rather with a black bag? Excellent paired with black, red and camel!

ETA:Have a great time at the party! That styling is the best of them all!:-)

Glad you kept it! It’s lovely on you and absolutely SMASHING with red and the other toppers.

Smashing dress on you-hope you felt as fab as you looked. I was going to suggest black hose. And the accessories all look wonderful on you. Clearly you have good instincts!
