Love these, so different! But the white tongue digs into the front of my ankle -- will the leather soften to make it a non-issue?

Pictures 6/7/8- Sam Edelman "Sutton" sandal. I wouldn't have chosen the animal print but the other colors were not available in store. Notice how my cat strongly approves! She had no interest in appearing in the rest of the photo shoot.

Since I went to grad school in Evanston I felt compelled to try these out. JK. But they are too big. Are they worth sizing down? Another color maybe? Kind of a pain to put on and buckle.

Goal: 2 new pairs of sandals. Feel free to add any links -- all of these are returnable!

I would love both 1 and 3.. But here in Norway I hardly have the weather to justify buying them at all and 2 is so you... If you are sure they would stop biting you have a reason to keep 3

Wow! Love them all. The only comment I would make is about the Opening Ceremony sandals (which are my favourite) is that from a distance with a full length pant/jeans it could look like you are wearing white socks with your black sandals. I think to really get the best look out of these sandals and exposed ankle might be necessary.

I really like 9/10 but if they are a pain to put on then not worth it. I do like the white/black ones but I don't think the tongue would soften for you.

#2 is my fave but don't get on the chance that the tongue will stop digging.

love the heel in #1. that citron color is really great.

the evanston looks so fab with shorter pants, only meh when the ankle straps are covered. but if they are comfirtable to wear, worth thinking about. i have a strong preference for easy in /out shoes. hard buckles eould drive me batty.

what are you looking for in this sandal expansion?

I would return the ones that are uncomfortable (not worth risking leather stretching at the ankle. I think it will give at the dot, so much less certain about the ankle). I would also not get the correct size in the ones that are difficult to get on. Me, personally, I would just never reach for them.

Looks wise, it is very hard to decide as you picked all great sandals that look good on you!

I would return the opening ceremony ones. No sense in keeping sandals that don't fit from the start. I love the first ones! The ones with the animal print are nice too but the citron ones are to die for. I also like the look of the last ones, but I hate shoes that are a pain to put on. Maybe you are more patient than me?

This is a tough choice. I love the Trina's and based on nothing at all am going to thus rule out the Sutton's (sorry kitty), as they are sort of similar but I think the Trina's are more on trend (not that you should listen to me on that). I do love the grunge fisherman ones - starting with the name - but I see how the top could be bothering you and have no way of knowing if that will soften. I like the red Evanston's too, but they are less different than the Trina's than the fisherman sandals. So I guess my top two would be Trina's and the fisherman sandals, if they seem like they will be wearable. Not sure if you can get anything useful out of that!

Tough one. Each pair is unique and you make them work, and I like them all for different reasons. I am seriously of no help here.

Jeeze they are all great, it's hard to choose. Are all of them an option? Hehe.

I do like 1/2 a whole lot. Closely followed by 9/10, if you get a pair in your size.

I'd say keep the first pair for sure. The mix of colours is great and they look good on your foot. I love the black and white too. If you can wear them around the house a bit more perhaps the leather tongue will soften up. They are such a unique look. I also like the Evanstons - there's a grey and turquoise version that's quite pretty, but if they are a nuisance to put on perhaps they're not for you. I'm eyeing them for myself and wondering what size to order. I normally buy an 8, so would I go down to 7.5 do you think? Thanks.

The first ones are so pretty! The second ones are cool but look like they aren't going to be comfortable. I like both the third and fourth options, but the fourth looks similar to the first if you can't see the crossover ankle. I would go for the leopard print. It looks really nice in the outfits and kitty approves.

I love the trina's - so pretty, and the citron color is fab. I agree with kitty on #8, but for me it's a tie for second place between #8 and #9 - 10.

The Kitty-approved Sam's are nice, but quite similar to the Trina's which I slightly prefer (go figure since I am like kitty and wildly attracted to animal prints)
I love the look on your ankles of the Evanston's, and any of the colors get my vote, but if they are truly a hassle to put on maybe keep looking.
I'm not feeling the fisherman's personally and if it rubs now it will be torture later.

The SE are very pretty (my fave is the first pair). Love the OC's best, but only if they are totally comfortable.

Love the Trina sandals for you Denise - the colour is lovely and the heel is fab. I personally don't think that tongue is going to loosen up enough on the Fisherman ones to be comfortable - I think it's because the placement of that part is quite high on the foot and no matter how soft it gets, it will always catch you right where you bend your ankle when you walk. I like the look of the animal print ones, but do prefer the first pair in terms of colour. The last pair are lovely but if they are a pain to get on and off, will you reach for them?

You can't count on the fisherman sandals becoming more comfortable. As cute as they are, they should go back.

I love the leopard print sandals, as I love almost anything in leopard, so I have to admit that I'm surprised to find myself voting for the other two sandals. The Trina and the Evanston. I love the color combos of both. And I love the perforated leather and ankle straps on the Evanston.

I am loving #2 and #8.
I actually just bought these. I felt hard for the Prabal Gurung for Target version but they are synthetic, so I set off to find a similar in leather. Just wanted to share!

I LOVE the Opening Ceremony sandals. Those are best to my eye! But I worry so about that tongue digging into your foot. *huge sigh*. Very annoying

I LOVE the Evanstan with the red ankle straps next and hope you try them a size down. Extremely flattering on your bare legs. WOW.

As much as I love the fisherman's, I worry about comfort. I LOVE the the silver heel and citron in 1 and adore the sassy leopard print of the SE. I think the crisscrosss sandal is cool with cropped pants but the buckle thing is enough to make this girl think twice. I hate having to buckle things like that. Perhaps you are not as lazy as me though.

I'm going to be difficult, I think you need three pairs. Awesome choices, you've inspired me to go sandal shopping. Hard to fathom given the many feet of snow outside.

The silver heel on #1 combined with the citron is so fantastic. The fisherman sandals are so different and forward, I think you need them. Hope they will become more comfortable. And the last pair with the perforated wrap around straps, I love.

I also love the OC pair and the Evanstons. Both are very cool looking and flattering. Do you think some moleskin on the tongue underside would make the OC sandals more comfortable?

I love 2 and 3... 2 would be great for those hot, dry days you were telling me about. 3 feels a lot like you - but boo on the digging! Can you wear them around a bit and see if they start to soften? If it seems promising, then you could attack them with leather conditioner or a swap of rubbing alcohol.

I am reluctant to send back the Opening Ceremony fisherman sandals. They were recently featured on Rachel Zoe's website and are sold out now. I was wondering if I size down might be better -- but now I see they are sold out in the size down.

I am going to hang on to them a bit longer and heed your advice to wear them around the house (carpeted section only).

Still thinking about the others, these are tough calls as I actually like all three other sandals and they are comfortable but I don't love any of them as much as the Opening Ceremonys.

Hard choice because I like them all. To help narrow it down I wouldn't keep anything uncomfortable or that doesn't fit. Also if you don't like the animal print then you could eliminate that too. You could however find other colours & sizes elsewhere, & even another pair of the black & white may not be uncomfortable. I find the Sam Edelman & the Splendid ones the most attractive but really they all are. Oh & I guess you need to ask yourself which ones fill a hole or will get the most use? Unless they are just a fun purchase.

Do whatever you can do soften up the tongue on the O.C. ones - they are by far the best of the bunch! After them, I lean towards the Evanston ones - I just love the crossed ankle strap look - and your feet and ankles look great in them!
