K/R - BR sleeveless blouse

One of the last remaining wardrobe holes for this summer was a sleeveless blouse. Hard to find!! I found this at BR on the weekend, and I think it fits the bill. ! My only hesitation is that it's polyester... hoping the drapiness and sleevelessness will make it a bit more breezy, to counteract the lack of breathability. Or is this a mistake? My office is air conditioned, I really only need to deal with the 3 min walk from car to office.

So, thoughts? Here are some styling options. And me sans make up

Blouse looks great! The color is very flattering. These tops are perfect for the summer. I prefer it without the belt!

I really like it, like the color, cut, etc., especially in 4. I happen to be a snob about polyester, and it does feel uncomfortable on me, but if it doesn't bother you, everything seems to work here!

I like the belted untucked version. And for 2 and 3, I'd love to see them half tucked as in #4 with a belt. Great color on you!

I vote keep -- looks great on you, is loose enough to help offset the poly factor, and works with your lifestyle. Plus it will be a great layering piece when it cools down.

This looks great! I have a "no polyester" for summer clothing rule, only because in my city, many restaurants and activities are outdoors, and it's very hot and humid. So even though I'm in the air conditioning much of the time, there's no telling if I might be grabbing drinks with friends and end up sitting outside for an extended period of time. If this wouldn't be a likely situation for you, then I vote keep. I prefer the look of the top unbelted and love it tucked in.

If you are like me, air conditioned car, house, and office, polester is really not an issue in summer. And it is so much easier to care for the silk

For a 3 min walk and an office setting, I think it's great! Won't wrinkle as you sit at your desk, too. Looks very pretty on you!

Polyester doesn't bother me and it sounds like you would be mostly wearing it inside, so I would recommend keep. I especially like it with your white jeans in #4.

Very pretty color for you, fun bright summer color, works well with black and white! If the polyester isn't a deal breaker for you, keep! You should be able to put a cardi, or jacket over it for cooler days also

It looks very pretty on you. Do you have other poly tops that you like? If so, this one will probably be fine. I've had to make a no-polyester rule because it seems to make me sweat, even if I'm cold, and it really holds the odor. A light, breezy top like this seems like it might work though especially since it's sleeveless. The color is great on you!

Color and cut are great! Lightweight poly wovens, especially when they're sleeveless, work for me in my warm but not very humid summers. (Poly knits, not so much - way too hot.) Plus the fact that they're usually wash and wear, no dry cleaning or ironing needed, means that I wear them a lot more than an equivalent natural fiber piece.

I've decided I love polyester for arctic A/C. It allows me to take my puffers off... yes, I will wear them in the middle of summer!

Not all polyesters are the same. I think this top looks great on you, I especially adore the combination with white bottoms.

This looks really pretty on you, especially with the white bottoms. If poly works for you, then by all means keep! I am like Claire in that it tends not to work well for me, but i don't have air conditioning and move around a lot outdoors. Plus it is warmer where I live than where you are.

I love the color on you and it seems versatile. I agree that not all polys are the same. I'm wearing one today that I wouldn't mistake for silk, but it feels fine on a warm day.

Great find! It's a simple shape in a vibrant color, which is great for you. I like it semi-tucked best.

I, too, have my share of poly summer tops. I find they vary quite a bit in "coolness."

I am a former polyester snob. I wear it now with no problems--woven polyester with breezy cuts, like your top. I think it will be great!

Thanks for all the replies everyone! I'm gonna keep it. I do have poly shirts, so I know the fabric itself doesn't bother me, but most of them are for cooler weather. I guess we'll just see how it works in the heat... if it's a bit hot, I'll just have to wear it on cooler days :). Which we certainly DO get!

I'm glad you are keeping it. It is super cute, and the color is great. Poly shouldn't be a problem in the A/C. I love it with the half tuck in the last photo.
