K/R - Ann Taylor Haul Part 1

So, the first part of my AT order came, as did Talbots boyfriend jeans, sized up a full size, that still don't fit me. *sigh*

All the At pieces did, but no jeans or pants in the lot of them!

#1 AT spring sweater and "moody" pencil skirt
#2 AT peacock top and turquoise blue skirt
#3 BR cream vneck spring sweater with AT ombre skirt (DH is in love with this skirt, but I have serious misgivings about pleats on my hips)

Honesty, please. I am just having a tough time lately figuring out what works. I really only want to keep what is terrific (and sadly, I cannot size up on the skirts - the sacrifices hips make for babies!)

I love #1 and #2. Those colors really compliment you.

I'm not really into #3 as a whole. I think the top is nice and I'd love to see it with the skirts in 1 and 2. There's something I can't put my finger on about the third skirt, but I feel like it isn't really suiting you.

I really like #2. #1 looks good but the top is not as flattering to my eye. #3 is a no from me - not sophisticated enough for you imo.

Thistle, I really like the first and second pcs. The colours suit you very well and the skirts seem to fit properly. I'm not sure what it is about the yellow outfit that I'm not loving......maybe keep the top with a different bottom?

shame about the BF jeans.
I was going to order them....not sure I will now. I imagined they would be cut a bit larger as BF jeans should be a bit baggy. Hmmmmmmm

I really like #1 and #2. Like the others, I am not crazy about #3, but I'm not sure why. #1 and #2 are keepers!

1 and 2 are really nice, Thistle. I like the top in 1 but love the neckline and pattern of the top in 2. I love the idea of 3 but am not loving it for you and can't really pinpoint why.

Your shoes look great with these.

Hedgiehog - I was super disappointed with the Talbots BFs. They were not cut loose and baggy, and I sized a full size up. Couldn't get them zipped. Maybe they were supposed to be a signature fit, which I can never wear. I like Hollywood, curvy, and heritage though.

I actually really like all of the AT haul! How short is the skirt? I'm wondering if that is what's throwing people off?

Too bad about the jeans... sizing is such a problem these days!

#3 comes about an inch or so above the knee. It creeps up more on the sit down test than I am used to!

Ahhhhhh, that blasted signature fit! Yes, that would have done me in as well. I can do heritage and curvy. Never tried Hollywood....not because the name makes me think of a tall, slender woman. If I come across any other BFs, I'll let you know as I'm in the market for a pair as well.

I really like everything in #1 and #2. You look lovely in those colours. and I'm crazy about the skirt in #1! I think I would like #3 but the skirt feels a bit short. There is no problem with those pretty pleats and your hips -- it just needs to be a bit longer. How much seam allowance is there?

Suz - there is almost no seam allowance.

# 2 stands out the most...really, really attractive pattern, colour, and fit. You do wear a V neckline very well, though.

I like all of these although I would like to see #3 from another angle. The skirt looks like it might be a little shorter on the sides than the front? Maybe your hips are pulling the sides up so the front hangs longer. It could just be the camera angle too, so that's why I think a side view would be helpful.

All of the new pieces are great! Seriously, I think you should keep it all.

I also have to say that the skirt in #3 is my absolute favorite of this lot. It's gorgeous, fun, and flirty, and very flattering. (Your DH is a wise man!)

I love #2 and like #1. I'm not sure about #3. The skirt seems off somehow, but I can't pinpoint what it is. It just seems overly cutesy for your style.

Love love love the colours and pieces in nr 1 0nd 2 -cuts and lengths are so flattering!!! Maybe size up the skirt in nr 1-looks a little body con (if for work), but you know!:-)
Where and when would you wear nr 3? Even if I would bare with its flippiness for some romatic/casual vibes but still, I think the skirt it's a bit short,

I like all of them, and I think the flippiness of #3 is really fun! Maybe keep it to wear out with dh? If he's in love with the skirt, it's a keep in my book.

I love #3-- it really shows off your tiny waist. If it feels cutesy to you, adding a jacket or more elegant footwear/accessories might fix that. I'd totally wear #3 with sassy wedge sneakers and rate accesories, though I'm not super wild about 1 or 2. I think the top in #1 might be too long for wearing with a skirt? Could you semi tuck it? I like the top in #2, but not sure about the whole outfit.

#3 is my favorite! I didn't know about you wanting to be sophisticate, as someone else mentioned, but it looks lively, feminine, pretty.
