These two posts had me wanting a kimono style jacket:

Especially after I saw several fabbers wearing them in lovely ways.

I finally made one! Mine is a cropped style, out of a drapey jacket-weight silk in a herringbone weave, with a cross-hatchy plaid print in shades of brown and gray on a soft white background.

While I'll want to pair my jacket with jeans for a more updated look, for work today I'm wearing it this way, over
- an ivory layering tee (Tees by Tina)
- chocolate-chip-brown stretch wool riding pants (Dana Buchman; probably from the 90s!, from a clothing exchange)
- Frye Lynn short boots (also showing with my Paul Green Jano booties in graphite--I'm going with the lower heeled Fryes for a long day today).

The pants have snaps at the bottom, and I've opened the lowest snap to wear the pant legs over my new Frye Lynn short boots in gray.

So it's maybe not exactly an updated look for the kimono. I'm hoping I don't look too much like a 90s throwback. What do you think?

Suggestions welcome, and thanks for looking!
