Keeping Warm When You Have Spring Fever

With temps in negative numbers and the snow piling up and up and up, dressing has been a challenge for sure. And to make matters worse, it's like a sauna at work, so I go from one extreme to the other.

#1 - Zara skirt, Jones New York leopard print top, booties - gift from DH (Overstock.com)
#2 - Another gray and white ensemble per Angie's post a week ago. Skirt, blazer, top - JCP, large pearl necklace, Secret Santa gift from Ornella.
#3 - A bit of spring fever here and in #5 too. My top in #3 has anchors on it and so does the button-down peeking out from under my sweater in #5. My scarf says "a smooth sea never made a skillful sailor." I felt like I was laughing in the face of all this snow, and it felt good!
Blazer and anchor top - ON, black boots - Express. Pic #4 is a side view of the boots - they look very slouchy in photos, not so much IRL. They're warm and easy to wear in all the snow we've been having. Green jeans - Macy's, cream sweater - F21, scarf - Charming Charlie, light brown boots - Express. Everything is at least a year old except the sweater and scarf in #5 and the boots/booties in #1, 3, and 5. Those are from this season.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! The schools in NY are closed for winter recess next week, and as long as we don't get too much additional snow I'll be heading out to visit a friend on Long Island for a few days.

Day Vies

I love the turtleneck in #1 for some many reasons: color, print, 3/4 sleeves, cut just to name a few. Love it with the full skirt. The outfit in #2 is sharp. Love the color and cut of that jacket and I also really like your hair in #2 too. I love the jacket in #3 and the fit is just perfect on you! I also love outfit #5 because of the colors and the print in the scarf -- a very nice mix of textures in that outfit. Enjoy your time off even if you have to wait a little longer for spring to show up

Hard to pick a fave but #2 is pretty special. Love that jacket. And Karie I love how you have styled your hair in #2. Your hair always looks amazing and the different styling is equally fab and very flattering.

Hope the weather cooperates and you are able to head out to LI...I would take 3 & 5 for sure...All are great looks..will spring ever come?...This is the hardest time of the winter when you so want it OVER...

Thanks everyone! Tracey, Day, Summer, and Deborah, the first year I had that blazer I hardly ever wore it - only twice I think - and this season I'm wearing it quite a bit. Funny how that happens. It's good that I didn't purge it, it's like somehow I knew.

Day Vies, I love the words on that scarf. It made me smile all day! I grew up in NJ and my parents had a beach house in Sea Isle City where we spent most of the summer. Now that I've moved to NY, a favorite place is Sackets Harbor, a little town that sits on Lake Ontario. I'm dreaming of warmer days and summer vacations!

Crutcher, so far the weather is NOT cooperating! I was supposed to leave Sun. and return Wed., and it's supposed to snow both Sun. and Wed.! I'm not traveling in the snow. It has been a rough winter, but even more so for our friends in Boston. They've got it really rough!

I so hear you on the spring fever Karie! For sure wearing white and brights helps to beat the winter doldrums. Tomato red is a good color for you, you should wear it more often. However my favorite is the first one with the flouncy skirt and leopard sweater. So elegant and current , especially with the booties.
Crossing fingers for you that weather cooperates next week but even if not - a week of recess is still a welcome thing for sure

Oh boy sounds snowy & cold! But you are looking GReAt! More love for #1. It's a fab silhouette and fun print. I like them all, but the cream sweater in the last outfit sings to me - cozy cozy.

Sveta, I love tomato red. I went to J.Crew looking to add a pair of tomato red trousers to my wardrobe, but they didn't have the ones I was after in the store. You know I came home with a different trouser in place of them

Karie, you look fab in all of these outfits, and there is such variety to them - all so completely different from each other. Difficult to pick favourites, but possibly #1 and #2? But I love them all.
