Keeping warm: Long cardis and a long sweater

Fall is here and that means sweater season. I am so happy to be layering again!
#1 rust cardi, almost a cocoon style, worn with black bootcuts
#2 happiness factors
#3-4 light weight Nic and Zoe worn with slim legged pants
#5 more happiness factors
#6-7 field trip ready! Cotton rag style sweater, Long knit jacket, skinny jeans and bog boots

I have been warm and cozy, so that part I consider a win. It is early in the season, so there is lots of time to improve and try different styling. All comments and suggestions are welcome. Thank you for looking.

I like each of these. I can see you are a “seasoned” fall dresser lol. The cardis are fab, your pants lengths are perfect and I also really like the black and white top popping next to the solid knit.

Wow, I really like the cotton textured sweater on you -- it brings out the shine in your hair and harmonizes really well with your colouring overall. The Nic and Zoe is also great on you -- don't you just love colour blocking?

Hahaha, yes, Jussie, I have had some practice. With new items it might take a couple of tries to get the right combo of layers, so they are not too warm, or not warm enough, but I learn quickly!
Joy, that is a nice compliment. Living in Maine, warm and cozy is essential. Sometimes it is easy for warm and cozy to slip into frumpy. I find a little polish helps.

Thank you, Suz. Yes, I have always loved color blocking. The textured sweater is likely to become a favorite. It is soft, has the extra length I want and is very well made. Machine wash and flat dry. It is from LLBean. It comes in other colors......I may be placing an order.

You look polished and cozy! I am a fan of long cardigans because they are so practical in a school building where the temperature varies room to room (at least in ours). You do an excellent job creating interest with color, texture, shape, shine, etc.

Can you provide a link to the LL Bean sweater? I’ve been searching for something similar (looking at the Leith one at Nordstrom but vaguely remembering Angie disliking it for some reason). And is it true-to-size?

I really like your field trip outfit. The outfit without the jacket is very nice, but then the jacket adds quite a lot. Your jewelry is always lovely, too.

Staysfit, oh yes, temps vary between rooms. My room is front and center from the main entrance, so we get lots of fresh air when the doors open.....sometimes refreshing, sometimes cold.

Thanks, JAilleen! The outfit was great for our field trip. We took the first graders hiking along a lake, across a boulder field, along a board walk and circled back on a gravel trail. On the map the hike was listed as 1 3/4 Miles. Ummmm, wrong. It was more than 3, but the kids were great and we all had a wonderful time. The coat is also from LLBean. The hike was the first time I had worn it. It was perfect for that day. I liked the coverage, the pockets, the hood and Th ease with which it fit over my sweater and allowed me to move. I think it is going to be a weekend work horse.

I love all these looks. Wish I could wear these fall colors myself. That rust cardigan ... love love love. The color block one is so interesting, as is the rag style sweater. What a great collection.
