1) This jacket used to be tan, and I never wore it that color because DH said it washed me out. I've turned it into a distressed olive color... but is it chic or scary? Is it able to go to work? I don't want to intimidate people.

2) These pumps are the Born Danine with a 1.5" heel. Really comfy and a good height for work and DFS, and I never did find walkable pumps since I started looking back in the job interview days. I do wonder if the upturned toe makes them look silly (that is probably part of what makes them comfy, but...)? I love that the lining is also leather for breathability.

I like the jacket! To me the shoes are "cute" for your style, but they certainly fill a need, so that's useful.

It's hard to tell the color of the jacket on the monitor, but I know you are a master at transforming things so I'm sure it turned out FAB.

So glad you added a pic of the shoes. They look black in your outfit pics. Bronze snakeskin seems like a good UWP choice. : )

I feel like sticking my oar in to provide a counter to the shoes being "conservative" or not special. she's thinking of these for work, and not in the sitting shoe capacity. sometimes she isn't going to want to wear boots with certain outfit combos. she has the galaxy oxfords, and crocs for flats but no work heels.

So a simple pump works well, and bronze snakeskin is even better than the black I thought they were!

I agree with Ceit. The shoes are functional for work. Maybe they aren't as RATE as they might be, but they are a nice looking, basic versatile shoe.

I think you did a fantastic job changing the color of the jacket - it looks great with your skin tone. Comfort is a huge factor for work shoes, and I don't think these look silly at all, so I would keep them.

I think both are great if you still love them and have room. The jacket is well fitted and I love the color you made it. The shoes are classy and still funky, which I think is great for your new job.

Rae, I think a pair of pumps are necessary for most women, there are occasions when wearing boots, booties or any other kind of more "unconventional" footwear might not be appropriate. I think you should keep the pumps.

( Una, you live in Alaska, you are excused from the pump requirement).

I would love to see a closeup of the finish on the jacket. Distressed green can look moldy. I am just going by the one time I decided to do a faux marble, distressed green finish on one of my living room walls. It looked rotten when I was done. However, from this distance it looks great. I vote keep also..

I'm reading shoe critique with interest because I can see they're maybe not trendy, but how on earth do you get a comfortable shoe that looks something like a pump? The mixed materials do give it more oopmh. Here's where I like to learn how to style the comfy pump to mitigate it a bit. Then I would totally keep it but work in that direction.

Unfrumped, take a look at Kari's WIWs. She has a PHD in styling this type of shoe, and it never looks frumpy.

I like what you've done with the jacket and I love how you styled it. As for the shoes, well I liove the two materials and the bronze colour and though they arent as RATE as you usually go , I think they work and I have seen you in pumps before. They look perfect for work.

I like the jacket a lot but also wonder about the shoes. The round toe plus low heel looks really girlish to me - how would you feel about a pointier toe?

Interesting reaction to the shoes. I often look at (but ultimately pass over) this style because I can't wear "real" heels, yet true flats are also problematic. This type of shoe seems ideal but I always wonder if it is frumpy especially with my "emerging" warddrobe (emerging from frump to better things like an emerging nation, haha). However, as worn by rae here I think they look good! They read as flats from the front but probably look better than flats would with the midi skirt. The materials seem very rae. Since you already own them, I would keep.
But I am definitely on team comfort/practical shoe, I just try to keep them as attractive as possible...

The pumps seem like they're perfect for filling a wardrobe need. They don't look too conservative or boring, and should be very comfortable. I think they're a great find for you!

I like both the jacket and the pumps. The pumps look like a basic shape in an interesting color/finish. They fill a necessary function for work and I'm sure you can style them so they fit your style (ugh, what a redundant sentence).

I have a leather jacket in a similar colour and I love it. And I think it suits your colouring more than mine, so it is a definite keep. I like the shoes also, I think they fill a specific niche for you. The colour and the snake work with your style, and the shape is practical for work. Because you are wearing them with your brilliant individual style there is no chance that there will be any level of frumpiness.

I am with Zap in that I'd like to see more "up close" on the jacket finish. The overall color suits your coloring well, but I do see some color variation and how exactly that looks would be important to me if I was going to choose you to be my SA (if it just for casual, the close up wouldnt matter to me, silly huh?). I think the shoes are great for work. Bronze snake is a fun way to pep up a simple profile.
