I went to Nordie's yesterday to buy a bridal shower gift, and walked out with the Hinge peacock shirt and this Ted Baker dress. It really is just gorgeous. It has an exposed gold zipper! I love the colors and the length.

Is it too rectangular on me? And how does the neckline work on me as an IT? I adore it but it has to be a 10 to keep at the price...

Wow, what a dress! It does look a bit rectangle-on-rectangle on its own, but I love it with the jacket. Does it work belted? Are you ok wearing it jacketed, or do you want something you can wear on its own?

Love the print and the color. I'm not sure on the fit. Either it needs to more fitted at the waist or completely surrender the waist. Right now it's kind of "eh".

I would like to wear it on its own also, at this price. I could belt it. It has a straightish a-line cut to it, but as I have no defined waist, I'm not sure alterning to nip it in would help. I don't think it's meant to be voluminous (at least from the model photos).

HI ALASKAGIRL'S MOM!!!!

I love the colour of the dress - but it's fit seems a tincy bit off; I'd probably belt it But the model doesn't seem like she has hers belted but it kinda has that shape ... mmm.

I love the color/pattern and it looks great with the jacket. I was a bit on the fence until I saw the pic with the belt. I was thinking to suggest a belt and it works really well and adds emphasis to the waist.

Good lord it's fantastic on you!!! It's meant to be somewhat loose, IMO (and based on the model pics). I do like it belted, but much prefer it unbelted. Team Slouchy, Loose, Unbelted, and Fabulous FTW!

Hmmm...now I went and looked at the model pics after Jonesy's comments, and I think I'm changing my mind. I don't suppose you could take a pic from the back? I think that the exposed zipper and those seams give it some shape, so I'm leaning towards, yes, even without the belt.

I have to say, I try on dresses with true defined waists all the time, and they look terrible on me or else they don't fit, because I am so rectangular through the torso. So this or total waist surrendering is usually all I can do.

I love it too! It's beautiful on you, Una! I like it best unbelted and with or without the jacket. It stands alone on you very well.

The colors and slight A-line are really nice on you!

However, you asked about the "rectangularness" and shoulder issue; for me, the neckline accentuates both issues.

I know it's a spendy dress, but IMO tailoring that high boatneck to even a shallow scoop or V would better frame your face and create more balance.

Oh I love Ted Baker, although so often the prints are totally me and the cuts not quite hourglass/pear friendly. Love love love that print, I saw it in store too. The cut would probably not be great on me, but I love it on you!

Vix, I agree, a lower neckline would be better, but I am okay with this as it suits my cleavage-phobia.

Um, LOVE! Wrestling myself to the floor to keep from ordering myself one, too! Una, I think it evens out the IT figure beautifully and works well with OR without the belt. The cut is little mod-ish which makes me happy. And that print... I'm panting in envy here.

I love that dress on you. This is so weird when I saw the dress on Nordstrom's site I thought it looked like you. I think it looks great loose and without the jacket. The print and colors are beautiful. Great with your dark hair and skin tone.
