Keep or Return - styling Trouve pleated skirt

I ordered this on a whim and absolutely love the fit and feel of it, but really can't imagine how to wear it or if I could wear it to work? It's quite chiffony (like my new word?)

It's also an odd color - I was hoping for more camel, but it's kind of a mauvey brown. DH said to wear with black or cream, but that seems dull. Also need footwear suggestions. If I can't figure out something soon I will return with a small tear in my eye.

I love this skirt and am considering purchasing myself. Do you have booties that you could wear like the model in the picture. That looks really cute. What about a cream top and maybe a jacket for work. I personally could not wear this to work in this color (maybe on a more casual day) but I think that it would work in most work environments.
The best thing to do is put it on with a few different tops and see what works

I ordered this skirt on a whim too, just last night! I have absolutely no idea what I'll wear with it, but I loved the length and style of it. Guess I'll just have to experiment with it. Like your DH suggested, I was thinking of pairing it with black. Jjsloane, did you size down when you ordered? Based on the comments by other purchasers, I did, but now I'm really nervous about having done so.

Black, cream, navy, perhaps charcoal...lots of options.

It's a lovely skirt.

Funny, I was GOING to say that Khris (chewyspaghetti) wears this colour well, but forgot. Then I went to her thread, and look what I see: not the same but similar!

I have a similar skirt (mine is even MORE chiffony (0: Mine is a lighter peachy color, but it's pretty similar.

I wear mine with my denim shirt and a pair of lace-up booties, or with a white tank and olive green cotton jacket:

OK I am armed with ideas now - thanks. Will post a few ideas if I have time this week.
Kate - I am a 10/12 in skirts but an apple waist so for fixed waists I usually go with 12. I got the large and it fits perfectly but not tight at all. I think if I sized down I'd just wear the waist a little higher, mine sits more on high hip.
