Kate Spade Looks

I just wanted to pass on the link from Kate Spade's email today.

Each item is shown worn three different ways for three different effects and the ideas are terrific, ranging from casual to fairly dressy. Pics like these always remind me that I need to work my wardrobe more.

Which is your favorite? Who wants to play with me by picking an item from your closet and trying your take on the looks?

The colours are not really my cup of tea, but I like the style very much.

Beach tunic: the first version is my favourite, not really fond of #2 and #3.
Dress: I like all three.
Cardigan: I prefer it with dresses, #1 looks good, but not as nice as #2 & #3.
Skirt: I like #1 and #3, the second outfit makes the model's torso look awfully long.

Actually, the spring looks are more appealing to me.

Do you have an item of clothing you want to play around with like they have here? I know there may not be as many colors as they have here in your choices.

I love the yellow skirt and the different ways to style it! I don't have a yellow skirt, but I have a new pair of yellow peep toe pumps that I might try to play around with...getting ready for an out of town wedding, so I'll have to save that for later!

These were fun to study, but I wish each outfit had shown footwear and bag.
The most practical ideas for me were using the beach coverup as a dress and a tunic with clams. This could be helpful for packing for a trip.
I would probbly be most likely to play with an item similar to the Dorothy Dress, but I don't think they did that much except to change the statement necklace and the belting. I have a sleeveless dress in "sand" which is a similar color. My dress is fitted on top and waist like a sheath and flares out some at the bottom.

Joy, really good point about packing for a trip. I'm in the process of sort of compiling go-to packing lists for the places I frequently go for short weekends. You're right about the dress...the first had that cute cardigan, though. Your dress sounds really lovely!

Also, if you ever get a chance to go to a Tim Gunn/Kate Spade event, they do kind of what is done here. They'll show you how to wear the pieces in a few different ways for different functions. Plus, Tim is just awesome.

Thanks for sharing. I like the yellow skirt ideas the best. Overall they all seemed easy to do. It also reminds me that my wardrobe needs more cohesion to mix and match better.

Rosie, thanks for posting these. I love Kate Spade and her use of color! I didn't know you could get daily Kate Spade emails! Thanks for the tip--on this and on Zinio, which I think you posted something about in another Forum topic. I'm over on their website exploring that now to see what it's all about...

OMG AJ...I have that dress, too, but haven't yet worn it because it is a bit short on me...I LOVE your ideas. I hope you don't mind, but I totally plan to steal them. I am the same way - remixed clothes articles always get me.

Frances, you are welcome! Not all of her emails are like this, but they are usually fun and clever. I am a fan of Zinio because I've always been a magazine hoarder...this makes it a lot easier. There are compromises to not having the magazines in print, but it works well for me.

I have no idea yet how I'm going to do the skirt, but I will figure it out this weekend. It is from Talbots and really comfy so I want to wear it more. Figuring out some casual looks for it will help me wear it at work more.
