...are definitely not what I thought would be on my list at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. What was on my wish list were dresses or ensembles with fewer layers, curve-flattering but not clinging, clean lines, that are business casual but could also work for a smart casual event or dressy casual day when the mood hits. I am not very much in a maximal mood most of the time, preferring a column of color, a mix of textures, and statement accessories.

As it so happened, two pieces that really hit the bill were a crepe jumpsuit with a soft offset ruffle detail and slight waist ruching, and a lined, ponte knit sleeved fit and flare dress with a shoulder cutout. The typical kind of cold shoulder detail-a vertical slash on a floaty sleeve-makes me feel fidgety, but the clean triangular cutout higher on the shoulder, and the sleeves remaining in place on the arm, is more comfortable. In both pieces, the construction and fabric feels well made and medium thickness/good quality. (In the photos the dress is a bit wrinkled because this was the day it arrived by mail-the creases shook out later.)

While I can't add to the Finds, these are the items-I would highly recommend them. The jumpsuit is true to size, will not stretch due to fabric. The dress is true to size but might be a little more forgiving, you could size down if between sizes.
