I have a Bar Mitzvah to attend in November and it will be fairly dressy. I didn’t give much attention to NAS this year although I did casually notice some things people bought and Angie’s top picks. Earlier this month I started looking for a fall dress for this event. I ordered a few, and one was the Maggie London floral print dress that was Angie’s “best dress at the sale”. I did not expect it to fit right because it did not come in petite sizes, but I liked the way it looked on others and figured what have I got to lose? I also ordered some other dresses and had a few more in the wings to consider. Being a lemming about pretty dresses that work for other fabbers is becoming a bit of a hobby with me.
Good grief, when Angie gets it right she gets it right. But we knew that. Amazing! I wish I could return every other dress I've bought in the last 5 years and just keep this one!! I love the pattern and the fact that
it’s black rather than navy. The sleeve length will be great for 9 months of the year and if I wanted to wear it in deep winter I could put a layer under it. The slight mismatch at the seams does not bother me in the least like it did a few people. I’m wearing a 10, which fits really well except that I think it’s too long so I’ll shorten it. I’ve had a few dresses over the years with ruching around the torso and they work really well for my body type. None of the other dresses even came close.
I have several pairs of shoes that will work (if I can handle the heel heights), and a couple of bag options too. The dress will also work with my black suede booties and black tights or black hose for a winter look although I didn’t try that combination on today. I may look for a new light tan or bronze dressy clutch to wear that would also work in a holiday capsule.
#1+2 with nude strap pumps
#3+4 with black strap pumps
#5 with nude simple pumps.
What do you think?
How much should I shorten it? I'm thinking 3 - 4"
Which shoes and bags would you chose?
Any and all comments welcome!
