Jesse Kamm Sailor Pants Arrived

The Kamm Sailor Pants have arrived. I have been very careful this year to add pieces to my wardrobe that work well with my lifestyle. Not a fantasy lifestyle but the one that I actually live. I have promised myself I will return these if I can not see myself wearing them or if I look dumpy in them.
1/ They fit. Yeah for that. They are indeed high waisted. The waistband is at least an inch over my belly button. The waist is a bit loose which is a good thing because if they fit perfectly at the waist that might be uncomfortable. There is a little bit of wiggle room in the hips so that is good too.
2/ They are beautifully made. The fabric is very thick. I feel like it might soften with age and that would be good.
3/ I LOVE the colour. LOVE it.
4/ I can see wearing them in spring and autumn but not on a hot summer day.
5/ Mr. SF approves of them. He has good taste so that counts.
6/ I can see wearing them a number of ways. I already have lots of tops in my wardrobe and I would like a cropped cream top.

Pictures are of the pants but totally unstyled. I have no make up on and my hair is not brushed. Sorry but it was pouring rain all morning.

Stye Fan, I LOVE the colour and the integrity of these trousers for your style. Sooo much potential. The styling of tucked fitted tee and Birkies is great, actually.

FWIW, if you were my client, we would be trying a size up, and shortening the length to a couple of inches about the ankle bone. They are pulling across the top part of the thighs (and crotch point) and you haven't worn them for the day yet. Those creases and pulls will escalate during the day, IYKWIM.

And Sophie is a sweetie.

I was noticing the same thing as Angie and wondering if a size up would be better. Otherwise they look great!

That color looks amazing on you, great with the white top, and I bet a cream top would be great too. Like Angie, my first thought was that a size up might be better -- but I suspect you'd have to have the waist taken in on the larger size to have them sit properly.

Angie I see what you mean now that you point it out. I will contact them and see if they have the next size up. I doubt they will stretch out much so I should send them back even if they don't have the next size. I have to stay strong.

La Ped I am not so worried about the waist. It is already a bit big. Story of my life. StyleBee (a blogger who has them) had hers taken in at the waist. They mention it on the website as a possibility.

Style Fan, YAY. Try the next size up - and might be worth the waistband alteration. My fingers are crossed.

I quite like these on you, but agree that they are pulling too much across the front. I wonder though if they would loosen up after wearing for awhile - being cotton and all.....

Any chance you could post pictures of their inside finishing, if you have the time? (Waistband, pockets, seams, hems, fly.) Given how versatile my Madewell knock-offs are, I've been eyeing these since you first posted about them.

Lisap I was wondering the same thing about the loosening up. I have heard they give about 0.5 inch. They don't feel tight at all which is strange. Mr. SF was very upset when I told I was sending them back. Thank you for the vote of confidence about the look of them.

Sure Minimalist I can take some picture of the inside seams. They do have a button fly. Nice touch. I can see them being very versatile. I have a pair of black linen wide legged pants that I wear for all kinds of occasions.

Maybe what we are seeing is wrinkling then, and not pulling. You are the best judge of that. This is a cut we aren't used to looking at yet and it could be skewing things. I say if your DH and you both like them - go for it.

Love the high rise and shape on you. This is a good look!

This overall cut and shape is excellent on you. If the all-cotton wrinkling across the front doesn't bug you (usually does not stop me) they are a definite keeper.

Thank you everyone for taking the time to give me feedback. I am going to try them on tomorrow and wear them a bit longer. I put them on today, took the pictures and took them off. Tomorrow I will wear them for awhile and sit in them. I can make a better decision.
Wrinkling doesn't bother me. Too tight across the crotch does.

I love the color and shape of these pants! I hope they work for you - this size or the next up. Like Angie, I would be inclined to chop a couple of inches off the bottom, but I am still committed to ankle crops and know they are not for everyone. But these pants in the model picture, with her boots, look rather amazing.

Thanks Viva. I do like the pants on the model with the boots. I have looked at lots of pictures of the pants and I prefer them with boots with a block heel. I also agree that a few inches shorter would work better.

I just noticed this! Yes, they look great and would be a super addition to your wardrobe. I hope they stretch out enough so you don't have to return them. Finding the exact item can be mind boggling sometimes when you have something pictured in your mind! I especially hate it when I have found something that came so close to being perfect that I now want everything else to be that exact item without its flaw. That's what creates most of my HEWI's.
