January 30x30 outfit 15 pink peplum jacket with olive and brown

This is my Friday outfit - outfit 15 of the January 30x30 challenge. Today, I wore a wool pink peplum jacket (No 1). I love peplum jackets - so peplum today again

Under the jacket I wore a dark olive green silk blouse. I used dark brown straight legged wool trousers and grey/beige snake patterned sneakers. I added a patterned silk scarf, a thin wool olive green shawl and a hand made ceramics brooch. I also wore a grey/olive handbag and a pair of pearl earrings. And for the sake of the picture - a pair of long dark brown patterned velvet gloves :-).

So what do you guys think of the outfit and the colour combination? I am grateful for honest feedback, ideas, comments and whatever comes to mind.

Pink and olive is one of my all-time favorite combos! I love your coordinated accessories -- really pulls together the look in a pleasing way. I may have to try your double-scarf trick sometime.

I love Olive and pink together and your jacket is simply gorgeous.However I think your accessorising is what deserves most comment here,it’s quite simply masterful ,The scarves,the bag right down to the pearl earrings.I m impressed.

Toban, thank you. The shoes are Hogan sneakers, the model is called Interactive. Hogan has made them in many years and they come in variety of colours and materials, both for winter and summer. They are pricey, but of extremely good quality and very durable. I have had these in about three years and I have a black pair which I bought 7 years ago and used a lot, and they still look good - real workhorses. I will try to post a picture tomorrow.

Lovely. As others have said, you really know how to accessorize your outfits. The pink blazer is beautiful.

I do have a few questions about your gloves. Do you wear the gloves out or are they just for the pictures? And where do you find all of them? I’ve known people who have bag collections or shoe collections, but never a glove collection. I am intrigued.

Tanstaafl, thank you very much! Yes, I wear most of my gloves out, I have a couple of vintage coats with 3/4 arms so the long gloves are useful, but they are also nice to other toppers. To the challenge outfits I add them just for fun for the pictures though. I have collected my gloves over many years and found them in various places - second hand shops, when bridal and formal wear shops had sales, designers outlets, some are travel souvenirs, some are gifts I got etc.

With this challenge, one of the goals I set for myself was to pay more attention to accessories - I often choose an easy way in the morning when I am in a hurry. The positive effect with this challenge is that I make myself plan outfits more carefully, pay attention to detail and try to use and rotate more accessories, which otherwise are easily forgotten. I am so glad you think it is working.

I enjoyed your brooch thread so much, I just had to check out this one. Wow--you have style, Katerina! Such a subtle and sophisticated color combination, and a favorite with a good friend of mine who calls that pale dusty shade "ointment pink". I wonder whether you have hazel gray-green eyes like hers? She would adore your whole outfit, as do I. Love the scarf-on-scarf effect, may need to steal that idea!

I want to second the people that have said what a treat it has been to see your amazing ensembles.

I have always considered fashion to be ART. I see so many different components when I look at an ensemble (everything from shape and form to color). I am not personally artistic. I think that is something that is innate to some very lucky people. You are one of those people. I am merely the person that can gaze upon the art and appreciate it deep in my soul. I wish my Mother were still alive. She LOVED all things fashion. She would have deeply appreciated your ensembles.

I saw you wrote a post about brooches. I will need to go back and try to find that post.
