AKA the month of bruises… seriously, talk about black and blue!
In my thread about my style goals etc for 2014, Suz mentioned that she had found photographing and posting her outfits consistently for a month really helped her, and suggested I do the same. I do photograph every day, but often didn’t go back and actually analyse what I’d felt like etc, so I decided to step it up a bit. I probably should have posted here every week or so, but my life just doesn’t always have room for that. But I now do have all photos off the camera, and processed, so here we go.
I’m going to do this in two posts, to help keep things organized. So if there is only one here and you are reading, hold tight!
First are the outfits I was happy with. Observations:
In general, I seem to need a fourth element. Not just the bottoms, tops and a topper, but a scarf, belt, bracelet, boots, something else.
Outfits that are three pieces have all made it into the “meh” pile (second post).
I think I look better with something substantial at my neck. That can be in the form a scarf, a v-neck or blouse with skin showing, or jewellery. Something that breaks up expanse between my swimmers shoulders.
I’m really surprised my turquoise sweater ended up in the “meh” pile both times I wore it. I do love the colour. Thoughts? Is it the styling? I’ve also worn it semi-tucked, which perhaps I prefer. Is it the shape? Neckline?
That’s all I can come up with right now, and I really want to post this before February is over, so here goes. If you have anything you can add, I’d love to
hear it. I realize this might be a bit of work, so please don’t feel you need to!
Thanks all. Even without a comment in this post, the comments you make on others, and the posts you all make, have helped me enormously.
Oh, and this is a mixture of work and casual. As you'll see.
