Jan challenge day 11, olive sandwich

Todays outfit is a work in progress. I like the idea, but it didn’t come together as well as I wanted. I’ve been adding olive into my wardrobe for a couple of years, and when I saw this sweater at BR in the post Xmas sales I knew it would work for me. Love the updates but classic style and the quality feels like old BR. And then I saw these olive combat style boots on sale at nordies (I think they’re sold out, which is why find is from Dillard). I love them together, but I think next time I’ll try a lighter color jean.

I think that this outfit works really well,great boots and cardi.I hestitate to offer suggestions as l don’t want to imply a deficiency in your choices ,the outfit looks great as it is but if you crave more lightness in the look how about a pop of red ,maybe a scarf?

I wonder if medium blue jeans ( or even lighter wash, or even white/cream ) will add more contrast and some playfulness. Pop of contrast color would be fun too.
I tried the same stylish boots ( wanted to add some green/olive to my wardrobe ) but could not feel comfortable in them after wearing my ECCO sneakers most of the time in fall/winter ( mild climate allows it ).

I like it! The boots are fantastic. And that's great about the sweater's quality. I got two BR items this winter and the quality was also very good on those.

Kyle this is the 1st pair of Vionics that I’ve owned. I’m finding them surprisingly comfortable, but they do have a built in arch so that might bother some people.

Your olive sandwich does have a certain military vibe to it, and I think a lighter colour pant in a cream or white would be another fun option to try.

If you do want to tweak things a bit I agree that cream/white pants would be fabulous. And if you DID buy the other olive boots in finds too, I would experiment with those for the textural variety - the suede boot and sweater strike me as being similar texture and I wonder if that's one reason it doesn't feel quite 'there' yet?

If you want to keep sweater and boots in the outfit, maybe try faux leather pants to add stronger textural contrast?

Well if you wanted to experiment more you could try it with the cardi unbuttoned? Or with a button up white collared shirt under it, peeking out above and below the cardi?
You could even half tuck the closed cardi at the front maybe?
