... all shades of brown. YES to chocolate, but also to umber, cinnamon, tan, and all the rest. Gray reigned supreme for so many years and I'm still waiting for the pendulum to swing to brown.
... simple slips, half-slips and petticoats. Nothing fancy or frilly, sexy or costly. Simply items that can be worn under dresses and skirts to stop them from "sitting out" so easily, help them hang smoothly and even stop the creep of fabric against tights worn beneath. I remember my mother wore half-slips with most day dresses, and though they might seem old-fashioned, they definitely served a useful purpose.
...wider variety of sleeve lengths.
...more "Long" options in dresses. I'm tall and most of my length is in my torso. As a result, I have scant need for Long trousers or jeans. However, I love dresses but tend to find the waists frightfully high and most "midis" barely reach the bottom of my knees. Petite sizing is relatively common but Boden is one of the few retailers who regularly offers many dresses in Long sizes.
... more tall boots, in a variety of styles and calf widths/ heights. The plethora of booties and slouchy boots we've seen in the past few years has rendered calf width unimportant. But I'm longing to see more tall, slim boots on offer, while at the same time knowing that many/ most will be too short and tight on my calf.
... more natural fibres that can be machine washed. I cannot stand sending many things to the dry cleaner, especially given my casual Mama-on-the-Go lifestyle. In the summer, I run hot and perspire profusely.
... more quality, small details (and yes, I'm willing to pay a few more dollars to get them) - better buttons than the cheap plastic ones that are on every garment I seem to buy; more fabric in hems; well-sewn seams and button-holes.
... more clothing that falls between "regular" and "plus size" - eg. there's a real gap for women who are getting too big for the size 14s but don't yet fit the 1X.
Haha. My list could go on and on and on and on...
