This is WIW today, to meet a couple of girlfriends for at-home brunch, and to ooh and aah over her upcoming wedding plans.

I got home and thought I’d take another crack at Katerina’s color challenge, and my accessory capsule challenge.

As you scroll through the photos, note that there are less and less accessories. Props to y’all with your fully accessorized outfit in each and every picture you post! Me? I got lazy pretty quick.

Basic outfit: metallic tee + dark skinny jeans + silver pearl stud earrings.

#1 - WIW - added scarf + crossbody + sock-boot-wedges. Loved this, will definitely repeat.

#2 - Metallic safari jacket, bracelet, suede pumps. I liked this, but thought I could do better

#3 - Swapped shoes, added a bag, hair down. Eh.

#4-5 swapped bags, hair up. Looooved this, because it felt playful and easy. Will repeat this, but with bigger earrings.

#6 - Okay. I feel like one of those scary people who randomly breaks out into loud Fosse-era showtunes and talks about New York ALL. THE. TIME. The hat is by Stetson, it was a licensed Indiana Jones hat. I was trying for Indy, so you can only imagine my shock when this was what I got.

#7-8 “Warmer…. Waaaaarmerrrr… “

#10 - Close-up of my hat, and smugly satisfied expression.

#11-12 Teal wool jacket, glittery scarf + shoes…and me making sure this outfit was still okay when I realized that jacket is going to be awfully hot indoors. It’s good. I’ll wear this when the temperatures drop.

#13 Donna Karan silk jacket and pink shoes.

#14-15 This was an experiment, using a super-vintage (probably 1990s) Victoria’s Secret lace kimono and lace pumps. I liked this idea, and I’m going to experiment with black pants.

#16 with the “mom” cardigan I bought last week to play a mom in a music video. I really liked this and will repeat, but with some jewelry.

#17-18 With my J Crew Campbell blazer (it has nautical buttons), and different shoes. Loved the gold shoes. I’d swap shirts for the blue pumps. (Also, I need to do a style lab with those blue pumps)

#19 - silver blazer and leopard pumps. Loved it, will repeat

#20-21 Here’s where it gets crazy. I bought this jacket from a pop-up bridal liquidation sale for $5, attracted by the mermaid color. I’m not sold on this look, but I like where it’s headed, so I’m going to experiment with different bottoms.

Also, the skinny belt didn’t look right as a belt, so I wore it as a bracelet.

I tried doing the Fall 2021 trend where you carry a giant tote bag folded as a clutch, but I look like I’m about to smack someone with it. Turns out, that’s exactly the scenario in which I would carry a giant tote bag as a clutch, so… this could be a repeat look someday.

#22-23 Last ones, I promise! Navy pinstripe blazer, two kinds of shoes. Really liked and would repeat.
