Is this outfit too predictable?

When I first bought my coral pants, I quickly paired them with a white cotton shirt and a striped scarf (the scarf I'm wearing below), and although I have worn these coral pants just about a million times in different combos, I still find the white tee/top and scarf combo quite nice.

Today I'm wearing my coral pants with a white tee (sleeves folded) and the same striped scarf with pops of coral. For shoes, I'm wearing my brown ruffle ones which go nicely with the tan bag.

My question is, is this outfit too predictable? I mean coloured pants, white top and a scarf which has some splash of colour (of the pants)? And does that predictability take away the fun from an outfit?

I should be so lucky if I could look "predictable " like this! So don't give up this outfit.

I hear you, though and if I've got the energy to be more intentional, then I would try to "unmatch" one or two things-- bag and shoes, or have scarf or bag or shoes) introduce a color from another part of the wheel like blue, teal, or purple- or even a shot of black for crispness. This would just be for more remixing fun-- I'll bet you have something that will do that.

I like it. I think it looks fun, flattering and comfortable. I don't feel like it's predictable at all.

Unfrumped, I thinka cobalt blue scarf would look smashing with this outfit! And I think I've worn it with a cobalt blue scarf, but in winters, so the top-half had a lot of layers with a black blazer.

I think it looks great, and I don't think "predictable" when I see it. It looks crisp and spring-like!

I tried to predict what you were wearing in the photo before I clicked on the link ---- nope, couldn't predict it!
Seriously, this is a frequently used formula because it works. A white top is a canvas that brings light to the face and creates a lovely backdrop for accessories. You look great!

I like Rachylou's comment. There's nothing *unusual* about the outfit, but sometimes perfect match of color, perfect use of pattern, perfect fit, etc., combine to create their own simple beauty. So often it's the effect of the complete package and not just of one aspect.

Predictable is such a strange word to me, this is not a simple answer. I see your smile the wonderful scarf, how you tied in the colored bottoms with the top. Adding your own unique style and flavor. Sometimes what we may think is predictable to ourselves others may think of as high style. It is called effortless chic and you look well put together. If that is what you see as predictable then so be it in a effortless way.

If it's predictable, it's because it's a tried-and-true that works. YOu look great!

It's a classic combo, but it works perfectly on you. I think the earrings (shape and color) and the bead bracelet, and the ruffled flats inject your personality and sense of playful fun. The colors and shapes all work harmoniously and beautifully together in this outfit. Adding more wildcard colors and shapes could make it more 'playful' to your eye, but might also not look chic and pulled together in quite the same way, which is fine.

But I tend to be more biased towards minimalism in visual information in outfits (or patterns and colors grouped to form larger shapes/areas) because it lets my eyes really enjoy all the detail that is there on both a macro and micro level. In this outfit, I'm really liking how well the white and coral and classic stripe work with the tan of the bag, glasses, and shoes. In another iteration the ruffles/petals on the shoes might distract me, but here they perfectly bookend the chiffon scarf, and the metallic echoes the sunglasses frames and watch. The rolled sleeves also echo the width and roll of the scarf.

I tend to geek out and ramble on about about these kind of subtle co-ordinations, apologies

I agree with others that this is not predictable and you look great! For my style, I would amp it by adding some black cage sandals, a leather cuff (in addition to your bangles) or similar. Or even some menswear inspired pieces/shoes...but that's me and certainly not for everyone. Keep up the good work!

Thanks Beth Ann- "The most beautifully dressed women are often wearing the simplest outfits -- it's often their consistency that sets them apart"- now that's something that got me thinking about dressing-up, and I couldn't agree more with you. Sometimes, in an attempt to look "different" or "unique", we overlook what suits our personality, body-type etc. And although there's nothing wrong in being 'experimental', I think it's always a 'plus' to know what suits us (makes dressing-up in a jiffy so much easier).

rabbit, I loved your "ramble", so to say! Sometimes, it's great to view things from another's perspective, and the way you've described the outfit, I'll admit I took another look at ,y outfit, and I liked it much more!

Beth Ann said it very well. I think this outfit is happy and fun because of the pretty coral colour that is repeated.
