Honestly, the kind of wardrobe I want is one where “putting clothes on my body” equals “getting dressed” because it’s just that easy. That’s especially true in winter, with under 8 hrs between sunrise & sunset. It takes forever for the sun to go down; it starts by 2:30. My style goals right now are stay warm and good-spirited enough not to crawl under a rock, or a comforter, to wait for spring. At home, I dress like the Lumpenproletariat, with layers to keep down the heat. Going out, it’s a different matter. I’ve been enjoying my big blue parka, but riding my bike in it can get sweaty quickly, so then my back is chilled later. These are the kind of layers that work best. My hair is down all the time, because it’s warmest that way.

#2 KISS—keep it simple sweetie. The only exciting things here are the swishy ends of the pants legs, sweater, and sleeves. That, and the tassels, are about all the flapping fabric I can stand, but in winter it makes me happy. To ride, I folded the pants legs way up and the whole world could see the bright red yarn tights of my underlayer. Patterned socks like Angie’s posted about this week would have been fun there. Underneath up top was a Uniqlo heattech top, the warmest one. I’ve decided to put these shoes away until the weather is warmer and will wear new Seibels next time.

#3-7 First rendition of this did not include the navy top, so the golden silk tank was visible, and I wore a cardi. It * snowed * on me en route home from the pool that evening, brrrrrr—the pants were a mess. Good thing we have a washing machine! I’m still wearing that top in this mix, but have added a ls organic cotton top I picked up at the grocery for 29€ as a midlayer. The angle in the shots my son took makes proportions so bad it made me laugh. No, my legs aren’t that long, and I am not taller than the door frame. Does anyone else remember the pet rock fad? How horrible to think we would find such a tight enclosure appropriate for any pet, lol. The construction zone tape tree skirt amused me. I have no idea why they did that. Covid? My metallic ankle boots are just about on their last ride.

#8-9 On cue, here come new boots, galloping into the ring. My hair obscures part of the black faux fur on my hood, but I hope it & my black gloves & hat tie into the black soles & laces on the boots. Also wearing black tights, which weren’t planned to show, but I guess they could have. The jeans are pinstriped, white & light blue. The Tommy Bahamas sweatshirt is from the Rack a decade ago, but I rarely wore it when we lived in Florida. This outfit was right for walking in; I would’ve overheated on my bike.

Last one is a teaser for the new jacket, which is being taken in right now. I pick it up on Monday.

OITW shots are awkward now—they all look the same. Here are some Christmas markets shots to compensate. Thanks for looking and for commenting!
