I've been thinking for a while that my 32DDs might not be quite the right size (underwire not laying flat, etc.), and so I made an appt. with an Intimacy about an hour away from me.

The pros: The fitter was very helpful in showing me how things *should* fit, and spent a lot of time with me. She agreed that I needed to go down in the band, up in the cup.

The cons: She said that I needed a 28G, but they don't really make those. Since I'd been browsing at Bravissimo online, I mentioned that they do in the UK, and she said they didn't in the US. (A speedy online search once I got home shows that in fact, they do.) Despite the speech about how many sizes they have, they didn't actually have very many small bands.

In all: I bought one bra, a 32E that they're sending off for alterations (4 week turnaround-- good grief!). It was double what I could pay for my *actual* size on barenecessities/herroom/figleaves. I really wish I'd held off. And I really, really wish I'd asked the price of the matching knickers before I bought them (holy cow! I'm so embarrassed-- $50 knickers. It didn't even occur to me that they'd be that expensive.). I have a TERRIBLE habit of feeling like I have to buy something when I've been given a lot of service, and I need to start saying that I have to think about it.

So, clearly my fault, and I feel pretty icky about it, but I suppose I can chalk it up to a learning experience.
