Happy Friday, Fabbers!

I had to go to the Farmer's Market this morning to stock up on some really fresh & organic fruits & vegetables. If I could, I would live on a diet of fresh salads and freshly chopped fruit all summer long (Sadly, my tummy loves carbs!)

It's predicted to be 43 deg C today, but the morning temperature was 37 deg with BRIGHT, HOT sun. I wore a trusted tshirt dress I wear at home, added a pendant, and then remembered that I had mentioned on Tanya's recent thread that I'm going to start wearing my hats around the city. Strangely, despite the heat, I never see ppl wearing hats. So I usually reserve mine for beach vacations too.

And then I thought --- what if everyone is waiting for someone 'else' to start the wear-a-hat-around-town trend?! And what could be more practical than wearing a large sunhat to keep the sun off of my face?

So I did wear my largest straw hat! And I'm glad I did!

I first wore the sandals in #1. Those are from Dr Scholl and always comfortable. But I desired a somewhat 'lighter' look & finally went with the silver. #3&4 shows my t-shirt dress (it really could just be a nightie...it's that lightweight & comfy with the generous cut) and how I'll be dressed for the remainder of my day.

Thanks Tanya! I own several hats and I'm going to be wearing them all this summer!

Hahaha. Thanks Mauvish. I'll be more focused on finding ripe mangoes and 'just right' watermelon....so I'm pretty sure I'll be oblivious to any heads turning to check me out

Fantastic! I never see hats in India, only on men. Women I see with umbrellas or scarf over head. Start a trend there - it will be huge!

As Una confirms - why on earth don't Indian women wear hats?! We aren't pale-skinned so that could be a reason...but who likes an ugly tan or sun-burn?!

Una - I HATE the idea of carrying an umbrella in the blistering heat. I dislike it SO MUCH. The only time I ever pull out my umbrella is when it's pouring cats & dogs. And I just can't add a scarf in this heat. So hat it is! I hope more women will be inspired to put on hats too.

I am so glad you were inspired to wear a hat, Maneera! It looks great on you, very glamorous but it is still just a straw hat. I wear straw hats in the summer fairly often in outdoorsy, non-work situations. I am very pale and burn easily, so it's a matter of sun protection, but why nit have some with it. Your dress paired with your hat are super cute. Hope you found some tasty fruit.

Happy Friday. I'm wish we had markets like that in the chi that we could walk to. You look elegant in a summer dress it is the drama hat and the pretty shoes that make it so. Your wadrobe is beautiful. Never seen an unflattering thing.

Ledonna....you know how to put a girl on Cloud 9! I couldn't walk to the market (too hot) so I drove there. But once there, I walked from stall to stall to pick the best fruit and vegetables. I'm so pleased you think my wardrobe is very flattering I bought these silver sandals earlier this year.....before that, I would wear black footwear with EVERYTHING! But YLF taught me the importance of having a few metallic footwear options,and I'm so glad for that!

Haha, I'm with you on the carbs! Love fruits and salads but can't live without my carbs.

What a great outfit, the hat adds the perfect touch. I don't wear hats, I just can't stand having something on my head, but it looks great like this. Love the dress and either color sandal works in my opinion.

I wear hats quite a bit in the summer. I've noticed people treat you better when you wear a hat. I think they suspect you're a celebrity or someone important. I don't like the hat-hair that comes afterward, though.

I really enjoy your writing style and you fits. I am in agreement with the shoes. Black was dominate with me.
