In the Zara Dressing Room (PICS)

........ a few weeks ago.

Had an unexpectedly GREAT experience! Store was big, beautifully merchandised, full of fresh stock, and busy (later).

I haven't bought a thing at Zara for YEARS. Fell off my radar - until they had exactly what I was looking for. Great prices. That's how it goes! The Zara items I have are old, woven, and good quality. I seem to be lucky with the brand.

Zara dressing rooms are the worst, though! Tiny, bad light, dusty, poor service, and awful black curtains. It is what it is.

Pic #1 - Took 4 items into the dressing room. All winners! LOVE

Pics #2 and #3 - Have had a column of citron on my shopping list for years - found a two-piece dress. Wear the unlined skirt with a cotton half slip.

Pics #4 and #5 - Adored the beachy 100% cotton muu-muu tiered navy and white dress. Perfect for hot days, and a Greece holiday.

Pic #6 - fell in love with the cropped tweed jacket, which is gorgeous with the column of citron. Wrong size in stores, so ordered the right size, which I got in two days with free shipping. Wore it last week to work with a client! VERY comfy.

I had a less than pleasant experience the last time I was in Zara about 5 years ago. Zara has been off my radar too. However, seeing the citron set and the beachy printed dress on you is telling me that it might be time for a visit.

You did great! I haven’t seen the skirt when I was in the shop. Zara is only B&M shop in which I regularly step in and have a quick look around every time I am in vicinity. And I always check their blazers and coats.

Oh - what a great set that makes ! The top is clearly very different than it appears in the stock photo ( the texture etc) . What a wonderful shopping trip that was ! There is no b&m Zara in my city - and the ones I’ve been in in Toronto and Calgary were messy disasters . Like an Old Navy store gone wild .

Irina and LJP, I surprised myself too! I might have the armholes of the citron top sewn up a bit because they ARE wide. Will road test first. Fine with a camisole though. The top has a very neat neckline and tapers at the hem. That structure helps me feel good in it

Great finds! I ordered the dress because I am still looking for a dress to take to Morocco that will be covered up. I ordered a couple of other dresses (including the one in this find) and a shirt too.

My first Zara order. Whenever I used to walk into the store, I'd walk back out again soon after for some reason. I thought the items tended to look better online with their styling in the photos. We will see how I feel. Your photos help.

These are gorgeous on you! I am not near a Zara so have never been in store but have done the occasional order - the items I kept are still in my closet. It is so hard to tell what the items are like from the pictures that I rarely order. I do love the texture of that top though. Maybe worth an order.

YES! Zara stores can be very messy and awful to shop in. The dressing rooms especially. Makes you want to walk right out. Quality can be inconsistent too. I hear you and agree!

Sometimes there are winners, and sometimes not.

To be fair, that is true of most brands these days. Even our tried and tested brands can let us down.

I don't much like shopping in-store at Zara (as a rule -- with some exceptions, if you happen to get to one of the better stores very early in the morning, LOL) but I love ordering from them and over the years have had surprising success. I also find that many of the pieces last much longer than one might anticipate. I still have the sarong short from...when? Feels like it must be at least 9 years ago. The other items are also really old. And still work. I don't wear the blouson tee as much as I did when slim trousers were the thing...but I think it will work with long skirts this summer. The sarong shorts get compliments every single time I wear them.
