I'm jealous of my husband!

DH has taken an interest in dressing himself better lately (hooray!), so yesterday we hired a sitter and he and I went shopping.

He found several shirts he liked, and on the way to the register to pay for the shirts, he mentioned that he really needed jeans. "Hold on" he said, walking over to a clearance rack, where he found a pair of Ralph Lauren jeans in his size for $19.99 and then tossed them on the counter.

The sales associate asked him a couple different times if he wanted to try them on first, but he refused.

And when he got home and tried them on...

THEY FIT! (and looked better than most he already owns!!)

I can hardly wrap my brain around it. How nice would that be? I could shop all day long and not find a pair of jeans that fit well!

Yep, major jealousy! Men's clothing is less complicated then women's so it's waaaay easier to fit. Plus they make a bigger range of sizes. Sometimes I get so jealous that men can buy pants by picking the waist size and the hem length independently.

Yes it would be nice to be able to select jeans so easily. But yay for hubby taking an interest in dressing better. Did you have fun shopping with him?

I did!

He's FINALLY branching out and wearing something besides golf shirts and khakis! Shopping with him no longer feels like shopping for school uniforms for my boys!

Shoot- I'm jealous of YOU! Your husband cares what he looks like and will willingly shop for clothes.

I must be very lucky- I can pick up a 24 in almost any brand of premium demin and it will fit just fine.

Diesel have varying leg lengths for women also (30, 32 and 34) so they might be worth looking at if you have trouble with the waist/inseam issue.

Yay for your hubby, NK- my SO has been asking if Angie has tips for guys on her site so he is starting to get interested too

Would it shock you if I said that my husband has more wardrobe space than me?

He dresses very nicely I think and I like shopping with him - when we are shopping for him and not me. He is slower to try new things, but when he does at my urging he normally likes what I picked. Two summers ago we picked out some linen trousers for him at Mexx - very Euro and he looks great in them and loves to wear them when it is hot, but not appropriate for shorts.

I agree, I am always envious of the ease men appear to have when shopping. Fit is rarely an issue with pants. I'm with Megan, my hubby has also asked about articles for men's clothing. Do you have the links to the older posts?

I don't know why but my husband has never been able to do this. His super short waisted so he has to try every pair of pants on, and he's squarely between a S and M on top so I either have to plan on returning things if I buy them, or he has to tag along to try them on.
So HE'S jealous of your husband.

Khris, your comment totally made me laugh!

I really think the only reason he cares lately is because he's feeling a little self conscious and going through a midlife crisis now that he's one of the older people in his office instead of part of the younger crowd.

And I've had to ease him into stuff. I show him pictures of outfit ideas and tell them I think they'd look good on him.

Of course, have a cute, young saleswoman suggesting clothes in a store seems to work wonders too!

Haha, guys are so lucky! I bought my hubby some new shorts for our honeymoon, and of course they fit perfectly. I couldn't help but think, "Gee, this would never work in reverse!" I could try on 20 pairs of shorts and not find the perfect fitting pair.

Ooo, beginners luck maybe? Yes as women we have greater fit issues but we also have greater choice which is fab!
