If you had to buy one pair of coloured shoes - which one?

So that's the question ..... I am hunting for that one dreamy (not black/white/brown/gray/silver/gold!) solid colored shoes that would go with many of the outfits (basically something that is psuedo neutral). Color blocked are fine too. I need some inspiration please!

ETA - Edited the title! It was sounding as if I wanted just one shoe?! LOL!

I was going to say silver/pewter, but since that's out, I'd pick bright red. Red can function like a neutral and is good year round.

MaryK and Joy are on the money again. Red is where it's at, if you're looking for a neutral that's not a neutral. What I mean is, Angie calls red a neutral because it goes with pretty much anything, but of course we don't think of it as a neutral in the same way that we do black, gray, white and shades of beige because it's, well, a damn bright colour.

I've got three pairs of red shoes, and they all get a lot of love.

I own only four things that aren't black/grey/white, and two of them are red shoes. Red doc martens and red ballet flats. I almost bought a pair of red ankle boots from Zara, too. I think red shoes are really versatile.

(I never wore red clothes because of my red hair, so maybe red shoes are also a way for me to work around that "rule".)

What about burgundy? Does it work like red? I have a pair of red toms and I agree it seems to go with everything.

I guess I really meant burgundy more than red. Pure red is a little too bright for my usual style. The Zara boots I love are a nice dark red, almost oxblood:

I vote for an animal print, but since that's not solid, I would go with a shade of red, green or blue, depending on your wardrobe. Like many here, if I had to choose one, it'd be red.

I would also vote for burgundy/red, but it depends which colors (not-neutrals) you have the most in your wardrobe.

Another vote for burgundy or red. I've been eyeing burgundy booties but right now need to spend my fashion dollars on more basic items.

I'd pick red - not even a burgundy because I'd hesitate to wear it in spring and summer. Plain old red!

I've had my eye on these for a while - I think they're very workable. In person, they aren't as shiny and look classic.

Red or some shade of red. Burgundy does not work like red -- it's more neutral and works very well as a colored neutral especially with grays and blues. Red screams PAY ATTENTION TO ME! (in a good way) Yellow is a close second.
