Another scream for red! But, if that's too out there for you for now, military green - military is incredible versatile and adds some saussy (without the more obvious punch of red).
When I was younger and didn't wear warm colours at all (my wardrobe was black, white, grey and maybe just a hint of blue), I bough a leather converse in military green (you might check Rae's post on the Cons highness). Man, those converses were worn to shreds. Seriously: I worn them with a hole on their soles for a few months... only giving them up once wet season kicked in and the sides of the sneakers also unglued.
