I think I found my burgundy boots!

#1 are the OLD ones - 5" office-sitting shoes that I am reselling.

#2 are Timberland Rudstons in burgundy. 3" heels, the same as my Report Marks, which I can and have walked all day in. I daresay even more comfy than that because of a bouncy, cushioned footbed and rubber soles. Also waterproof out of the box. Less bells & whistles, but I think I like the classic style better all in all.

I am just trying to decide if I should go up to a 9... one toe brushes the side of the boot when I walk. However, a couple reviews said that the boots that were more tried on in the store felt much larger, so I'm thinking they'll losen up. A too big boot is just as uncomfortable as a tight one to me because of all the sliding.

I threw on some random things for the photo. Thoughts?

Just have them stretched at the boot maker and they will be good to go

Oh, I really love these for you, Rae. I think I'd keep this size and see if they stretch a little with time. If not, you can always have them stretched a little.

The bigger size would definitely fix the toe; it is so slight. I'm afraid it would cause other issues, especially since the other foot is fine.

Jen, I like the idea of having them stretched - just a little more width in one spot would do it.

Lovely boots! I'm back to appreciating clean styling of leather boots again, too!

If you size up, you'll probably have all sorts of foot movement inside when you walk.

Beautiful boots, rae! I had my winter boots stretched last year and it made a world of difference regarding the comfort factor.

Very nice! I agree that stretching them seems like the best idea. Leather shoes do conform to your feet over time anyway. Yours are very similar to this pair of plum Frye boots I've had my eye on. I like the streamlined look of yours much better than the hardware on these.

Yeah, I would not size up for fear of sliding around. It's hard to see the heel differences in the pics, but I could only imagine a 5" heel would be a sitting shoe! I agree that 3" can be very walkable if they're stacked.

Oooh, gorgeous color! Re: the toe rubbing thing - I've had boots where that issue goes away after breaking in, but others where it never became comfortable even after many wears, so I am a little leery of it. I do have super fussy feet though. I prefer to size up and add inserts and thick socks anyway for extra comfort.

Sylvie, I wanted to try those ones, too! But based on what I can resell my old boots for, the Timberlands were more in line with the budget. They are very nice, thick leather and feel just as high-quality as my Fryes, though.

Sylvie, I have those Frye Janes in cognac and they don't get nearly enough wear. I actually prefer the Timberlands Rae got!

Una, I tried those Donald Pliners on - I wanted them badly! But they felt strangely wide and loose on me, even a full size down. And by that point I had to sweat and tug to get my foot in. Not for a long, narrow foot I guess. :T

Wow, since i have a short, wide foot maybe they'd work for me. They look fab on Jeneva! I should have known you had tried them out. Did you love them other than the fit issues?

How did I miss this earlier??? I love these Rae - the colour and the style.

I did. The color is a bit brighter and more red than my burgundy boots. Sometimes bright suede reads almost like velvet to me, which puts me off, but these still velt rugged and cool. I enjoyed the way they could either be worn up or down as well.

I got the Pliner's with a bit of encouragement from my SA. I had a lot of trouble getting the left one on due to my high instep. I'm hoping they'll stretch with wear. My high insteps prevent me from wearing a lot of shoes. For example I couldn't even get the Frye Veronica slouchs (it was an awesome ombre dye) on, and that was even after a stretching session. One of the reason I spend big bucks on footwear. There's a lot out there that I just can't wear or get on.
