WIW and WIB - a sunray skirt and more red boots from NAS

OK, I am on red boot overload!

I purchased the suede Aquatalia's in scarlet in the store, and will MAKE them work because I think they are awesome...

BUT, when I had thought the Aquatalia's were sold out in my size I bought the Donald J Pliner casual flat boots in oxblood...they arrived in the mail today. I threw them on with my work outfit.

I know my outfit isn't the most flattering, but I felt like a sassy Bennington girl all day, with my oxfords and pleated skirt. (-:

I have consciously avoided red clothing (with the exception of a red coat and red corduroys which were too comfy to give up). I have mostly pink, lavender, blue, taupe, burgundy and purple in my closet, along with navy, grey, white, cream and black. Do you think I can sustain TWO pair of red shoes with so little actual red?

I think those oxblood boots would look great with a dark red belt and your dark red lipstick from photo #3. I always feel like as long as my accessories are punchy and match well enough the rest of my outfit can be super neutral.

Oh, my, those oxfords! I love them, and that whole outfit is amazing on you. Sassy, indeed, and flattering too!
I agree that you can wear red boots with anything that goes with red lipstick. I think the Donald Pliners look great on you, and they are a completely different style than the Aquatalias. With NAS dilemmas, I ask myself, "Will I regret not buying X in three months, when the weather is perfect for it, and it's full price?"

Jenava, I think you could sustain the two pairs of boots based on the fact that they are different heel heights and one reads very slimline and sleek while the other looks just a bit "chunkier", so I see one as dresser and the other a touch more casual. Given red acts as a neutral, I think these might get worn more than you think. I also think that the red will work with many of the colors in your closet.

And your outfit today is super cute. I don't find this unflattering at all. It's clever and creative and those oxfords are just stunning. Your new hairstyle adds just the right amount of "glam".

Wow - beautfiul boots! I think you would get a lot of use out of both pairs - for the reasons already mentioned - one is dressier than the other and so you would wear them for different occassions. I also think that your coloring and how well you look in red lipstick is a real plus - seems like red can act as a neutral for you, especially with your grays, and creams. However - if I had my choice, I'd take your oxfords. LOVE them!

I think your WIW today is fantastic!!!

Now onto the boots. I prefer the Aquatalia for you, more elegant and more useful for your lifestyle where you dress for work 5x a week, and with a fashion company. The second chunkier boots are more weekend wear -- what I would pick for my casual lifestyle.

But if you have room for, and can afford both, why not?

ETA -- is that the tencel shirt Angie recommends from NAS? It looks great and you are making me want to pull the trigger.

Loving both those red boots! I think Denise is right: The Pliners are more casual, while the Aquatalias would be more elegant for work.

I love both boots and am no help at deciding for you. I think the red footwear with your soft pastels could be an interesting mix - reminiscent of watercolor painted photos (not sure this is the right term) or the prints where just one thing has bold color and the rest are black and white or muted tones. I'm curious to see it in action.

And I love your outfit with the metallic loafers. Such fun to feel great and happy in one's clothes.

I like that you added two pairs of dark red boots to your wardrobe, Jenava. One casual and one dressy. You have the right purples, blush, mushroom, greys and whites to work with the colour, AND you can build onto the capsule with the odd pattern. It's going to be an effortless addition

Love both pairs of boots for you. The red Aquitalias are making me eager to get my own (gray) pair! Interestingly, while I think the dressy boots are very you - they are also very expected (still love them for you), and I love the casual, more rugged DPs as a contrast to your soft style.

Thanks, MPJ. I have come up with a few ideas for wearing them (simple skinny jeans, white button down and black fitted jacket, for instance) so I'm feeling good about them. The suede and comfort on these is absolutely to die for!

I still have one more pair of (expensive, impulsively purchased) shoes coming. I may have to get validation on those as well. They are grey flannel kitten-heeled pumps...I technically can afford to keep all three pair, but it means NO shopping next month at ALL...and a whole month with no shopping right before fall might be difficult for me....(-:
