I think I’m in love with these cool girl sweatpants!

I jumped on the Zara parachute pant bandwagon last week and added these cotton sweatpants to my order on a whim.

The order arrived today (two days early!)

I think I have found my cool girl, wear on the plane, wear out to dinner if I want sweatpants.

The fit is generous. These are a small. I am a few pounds up but intend to remedy that. I think sizing up would get sloppy.

I have no experience with Zara so I’m praying they don’t shrink. They’ll get cold water washes and hang to dry so I think I should be fine.

The waist is elasticated - no drawstring. The bottoms are gathered with heavy cotton drawstrings. You have tie them, it’s not an elasticated drawstring.

I love the cargo pockets and the pleat at the knees.

As far as I can tell these only come in this dark grey, but if they ever showed up in a dark brown I would be so all over them!

Anyway, I am thrilled with them - they fit and look exactly as I had hoped!

Though I would share in case anyone else is looking for sweatpants that have just a bit more edge to them!

I have a couple of Zara parachute pants in my shopping bag since I saw Janet's and am tempted to pull the trigger.

I like the purplish ones except they have got a lot of ties and such -- they might feel too fussy.

Yes! I saw those purple ones after I had placed my order and considered adding another order! I kind of like the ties -- but I think you'd have to keep everything else very minimal with them.

That grey is a good colour for you... interested to see what you decide!

I’m enjoying some of the newer cargo pant silhouettes. Today I was wandering around sort of Christmas shopping in a nearby historic district street, and one shop had these black cargo pants that I really liked. Theyre not that full-length style with volume at the bottom, but I like the shape of the leg on me. They’re a touch short on me, but I may just embrace the crop and wear them with high shaft boots now and with sandals in the spring.

Jaime -- thanks so much! The pink top hasn't for sure earned its place yet, but I'm thinking about it. It's a duplicate of the orange sweater from last week's orange and burgundy outfit.

Janet -- Funny how a new silhouette suddenly just feels 'right', isn't it? I love that front patch pocket style on the Harmony pant - and I bet they would look amazing with a high shaft bootie until sandal season.

My closet run the over with joggers since they work pretty well with my diabetic meter... better than a jean style. They are awesome on you. And a big ego boost.

These do indeed look três cool on you - especially with the high-low hem! (Or have you just tucked in the jumper, lol?)

Hear you on the elasticated waist - for some reason I can tolerate drawstrings/ cinched closures at the cuffs, but the waistband needs to be clean for me to feel fab (otherwise I tend to feel too casual = sloppy).

With you if they release these in brown! For though, I'm content with my thicker ponte knit joggers & velvet pullon pants for PJs

Zaeobi -- I tucked in the front of the jumper. I have to say I have actually come to like the drawstring on my jogger style pants, although it would probably be one detail too many on these.

I see . I thought perhaps the find was wrong - the description makes them sound like a woven cotton. Anyways - those are indeed cute ! It will be interesting to see if/how they hold their shape . As soon as the holidays are behind us, I'm going to order a pair but in the woven nylon .

Yeah, Lisa -- I had to look twice before I decided to go ahead and order. I had already rejected another pair because they were twill. These will probably bag out, but I don't much care!

I ordered two of the nylon ones as well - a tan/taupe and a dark khaki in different sizes to compare. I think at least one of them is a keeper. And I'm still deciding about the red pair from Garage.

These are going to be a fun change, Helena. I can see still having use for the odd pair that's less voluminous, but I think these will suit my needs/wants very well.
