I totally hear ya on the low contrast thing. Well done! Love the vest. And keep on posting. Love it.

Lisa, your WIW posts are very inspirational and I hope you'll keep posting pics. That vest is gorgeous. The low contrast and colour make it soft and pretty but the sleeveless layers and moto styling make it edgy at the same time. Love it!

Hi Lisa, I'm late on chiming in, so many great posts out there lately, but I am always interested in what the petite ladies are up to....I love your outfit! Yes, to your spring outfit! Love the pink moto vest! So cute! You look perfectly pulled together.... and adorable points for the pink feminity! I probably would not have loved the moto in black(at least for a springish day). I have similar sandals, but I don't think they are as comfortable as yours. I love, love your pants! I didn't think I could wear the looser pants as a petite...you look great! Hmmmm...will have to try, no matter how frightened I may be of the result........you look great.. If i saw you walking down the street, I would definitely think..."Wow, what a well put-together lady, and she's rockin' a moto vest!" OK, I am out of the loop on all the references to low-contrast and skin tone....must have been a YLF class that I missed....I know that there are colors that I just can't wear...no matter how cool I think they are...but I don't know the low-contrast rules....Another thing....how is your handbag collection? No pressure.....I could imagine your last post or two with a beautiful medium/larger sized, soft, leather fold-over clutch? I can't do clutch bags....I would need a third or fourth arm. Was wondering what smart style or shapes you prefer with your outfits.....no pressure.......

I love this look with the pink tank and vest. Have you tried the vest with white or grey underneath? That could keep the look low-contrast and prevent the vest from being a one-trick pony.

Melissa - no petite here - I'm 5'5" I know what you mean about loose fit pants though - I only like them when they are cropped. Otherwise I don't feel good in them. Handbags? I usually end up with should strap bags out of pure efficiency - not because I think they look fantastic. With this particular outfit, i was purse-less that day and was using a black leather backpack as I was carrying around a ton of stuff for work. I love a fold over clutch too

Low contrast "rule" has to do with wearing colours that are more harmonious with the colour of your skin and thus not in such contrast against it (e.g. the soft pinks and nudes vs black). I don't always understand how exactly it works and on who, but I have found pretty quickly that pale and soft colours are flattering on my freckled, medium coloured skin.
