... And now I need to go breathe into a paper bag.

I pinned this suit on Pintrest TWO years ago.

I loved it, wanted it, but never bought it because I only loved it in theory. This was the someday-if-forced-at-gunpoint-to-wear-a-swimsuit kind of purchase and I couldn't justify it. Yes, I live in Florida, but the suit I own I bought about 6 years ago and the last time I wore it was maybe 3 years ago. I kid you not. I really don't like to be in the sun, and finding a suit that works for my lower half is so hard. I have the whole disguise the thighs thing down to a science, but there is only so much you can disguise with that little clothing. I truly have made peace with my body type, but that doesn't mean I want the world to see that much of me all at one time! Also, the last time I wore a suit, a man walked up and said "you are the whitest person I have ever seen in my entire life". It was all in good fun. I knew the guy, and I was sitting next to his gorgeous, dark haired Italian wife. So there's that.

Fast forward to present day and we are going on a short cruise to the Bahamas in a few weeks for my in-law's 50th anniversary. (Why can't we go to Alaska?!) I discovered that the suit of my dreams is still around, and on sale! White is gone (only because I waited a couple days to think about it) so the "asphalt" color was my backup. It is probably too dark for my skin, but I really don't care for the bright colors. What do you guys think? The skirt is longer than most skirted suits, but I think there is a way to adjust the shirring on the sides to draw it up. I'm also hoping that the plunging neckline keeps it from looking like I'm from another century. I'll let you know when it comes how it fits.... And post a pic if I'm brave enough.

Off to breathe into a bag now and look for recepies for natural sunscreen... I burn like crazy, but the idea of baking chemicals into my skin freaks me out!
