I hated to leave Seattle..

I loved our long weekend in Seattle. It was very exciting to meet Angie and the other fabbers. They all looked wonderful of course. I looked like a woman on vacation, which I was! We had a lovely breakfast at the Dahlia Lounge. (It was so nice my husband and I went back the next day!). After several hours of shopping, including a visit to the Mother Ship, I somehow got separated from the group. I talked to Deb and Angie on the phone and decided to go back to my hotel.

My husband and I spent the rest of the weekend seeing the sights. Some things were unexpectedly fashion or at least clothing related. We went to the EMP Museum - Experience Music Project Museum and the Chihuly Garden, rode the ferry, and ate good food. We went to Pioneer Square and Pike Place Market.

We flew home yesterday. It was 97 and very smoky from a fire over 300 miles away.

Suz, I wish you could have come too. I would have loved to have met you! We had really excellent weather. It made coming home to the heat and smoke all the worse. The pants are Lee curvy fit crops. I bought them at Kohl's. All the photos were taken on my phone.

Jenn, I'm sorry you had to move, for whatever reason. I really loved it - the weather and the water especially.

Kelly, I didn't buy any yarn. I had just started a new project a week or so ago. I did take it and knit a little on the plane and at the airport. I'm making my own Missoni-esque scarf. It may take me some time to finish it!

Love your photos! Seattle is such a fun and photogenic city - the Chihuly museum was my favorite when I was there a couple of years ago. And I think I went to that yarn shop! It's the one by Pike Place market, right?

Ledonna, the EMP museum has kind of an odd collection: guitars through the ages, a Jimi Hendrix exhibit, a Star Trek exhibit, horror and sci fi movie exhibit, and a wearable art exhibit, all housed in an amorphous Frank Gehry design. I enjoyed all of it!

Jaileen, while I miss Seattle, I'm not at all unhappy I moved. Seattle in November or March is a lot different from Seattle in July, and I honestly couldn't handle it. I am way better off with 300 days of Rocky Mountain sunshine a year.

JAileen - we probably came close to crossing paths. DH and I arrived on Monday at about 1 pm. We stayed in Belltown, right above Pike Street and wondered all over Pike, Westlake and Seattle Center. I always enjoy visiting Seattle although I didn't love living there in my early 20s. I grew up in on the sunshine side of the state and the long gray winters really got to me. But a lot of people love the weather. When the am I shining in Seattle there in no more beautiful place to be.

AviaMariah, I saw your post about shopping at the downtown Nordstrom. We stayed at the Crown Plaza, at 6th and Seneca. We got lots of exercise going up and down the hills!

Jenn and AM, I know gloomy weather affects people differently. I grew up just north of San Francisco and love fog. I live in a very sunny spot now and love it whenever there is a cloud in the sky. Last weekend we went to a barn wedding in our area. It was blazing hot. I talked to one of the guests who grew up in our neighborhood and now lives in Seattle. She said it was very hard for her. She said they hadn't had much of a summer thus far. I thought it sounded pretty good to me!

Thank you for sharing your photos! I loved Seattle when I was there 9 years ago (DH, MIL and a friend of hers all went on an Alaskan cruise and we added on two days in Seattle). We ate at Dahlia Lounge and loved it! We also went to EMP, the Space Needle, and Pioneer Square. 97 is hot for Seattle! When I was there (in July) it was 75.

Your outfit looks perfect for sightseeing and for your plane ride.

Karie, thanks! It was 97 at home in Nevada, not in Seattle. I think it was expected to be 78 in Seattle our last full day there.

Brooklyn, I think you'd enjoy it very much! Mr Skunky (not his real name) is not enjoying our hot weather at all. He has a coat like a bear. I often find him laying on the AC vent.

Poor My Skunky. Ms B (her real nickname) suffers in the heat too. We have one of those large sandpit shells they make for kids for her. We fill it with water and let her frolic in it. She LOVES it.

Brooklyn, do you mean a wading pool? We had one, but neither dog would go near it, so we gave it away. Mr Skunky will come into his own in winter. When it's 20F (-7C) you can find him sitting on the deck in the shade!! The other one was laying in the sun this afternoon. I don't know what the high was, but it's 97F (36C) now, so probably a degree or two higher. They couldn't be more opposite.
